    November 1940: ACG's campaign resumes

    Hello good people,

We over at ACG are gearing up for the next phase of our campaign. Gone are the days of German aircraft simply flying to England to be shot up the fudge maker. Now, we are beginning to play a game of give and take. Moving forward, we will be seeing German AND British aircraft crossing the channel for some hot lead-love. Our mission types are expanding with Jabo flights for Germans and Rhubarbs for the British (amongst others). We are rolling out our first phase this weekend with the phase ending in four weeks. The Time period is November 1940 and will take place on the Autumn map.

If the idea of flying with up to 100 other pilots in coordinated groups is appealing to you then please do not hesitate to drop by our teamspeak server. You can usually find myself or Martinjas online and we can help get you squared away.

Our campaign days are on Sunday and start at 7:30 BST with detailed briefings for each Staffel/Squadron. So if you are still flying around on your own and want to see if ACG is right for you, please join us this coming Sunday to sample the experience that we provide.

Do you allow other squad members in your campaign? Last time a few ATAG members were invited to play in your campaign, right before the campaign started, Osprey dragged them down in Teamspeak and told them to leave. So if you have a very "specific" audience you are trying to get, you should state as such.

    Hi Bliss,

Sorry for leaving that information out of my post. I just didnt think about it while posting. You are right, we are looking for those pilots that are still searching for a home. I definitely would not want to imply that we are trying to recruit from other groups. Again, sorry for the confusion and I will make sure to specify that information in the future.

There is already an ACG recruitment topic a couple of threads below this one.

There is nothing wrong with a members only club. Besides, ACG has enough members to fill their skies. That's a good thing.

However, it's understood here, that ATAG is a nice place to recruit from, but when your members are instructed not to play on our servers because of something I said that upset a few, that goes too far.

We have taken the better stance, which is to allow this recruitment to continue despite the continued animosities towards us.

I would hope at some point we can build more bridges then walls. That is what is best for this community.

No we don't allow other squad members in, period. We have too many members to allow other squads to join us and we also have particular rules to follow in and out of campaign in order to run it how we want to run it. This is not an ATAG thing, it's a squadron thing and is clear on our website here http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/events.php.
When people are not members, in our experience, they are unaccountable and uncontrollable for the mission and this spoils the event for everyone else over the longer term.

DRock was asked if he'd like to join along with some others. It was a mistake by an enthusiastic member. In good time I politely explained to him that he was welcome to anything we do anytime, but not for campaign. I explained the reasons for this clearly and I didn't tell him to leave, only that he couldn't join the Sunday missions. It appears to me that he has taken this personally, that is unfortunate given the subsequent negative turn of events that this has triggered and the untruths that are still being posted.

I should add that these campaigns have been running for about 18 months and I am certain that there are many pilots still flying COD, still in the genre, who would have left it had they not be running. There are many beginners who we have brought on and trained up who was still here because of such events. It is important for the sim, to justify the fine work of TF that we have pilots still here and involved, the sim is richer because of this.

    Just to clarify.

I was asked by two of your members to join them as a guest, as well as a couple of others. I won't name them, they know who they are.

You pulled me away before the start of mission and basically told me I wasn't welcome to fly the campaign, but I could remain on TS and listen. How gracious of you.

The other guests were not asked to leave.

As for you not recruiting from other squads, you said I was welcome to join if I was leaving ATAG. Not a chance, by the way.

I have no reason to lie about this. Nor, would I spread lies. No way

You're a liar and your lies are divisive. They do nobody any good, not ATAG, not COD, no matter how good you feel about it.

So may I ask, why do you need to use ATAG's forum to advertize?
We do not have a problem with advertizing and/or recruiting. Everyone has been allowed to do so in this forum.

However, a closed event not only goes against what ATAG stands for but also it does "nobody any good, not ATAG, not COD, no matter how good you feel about it. "

Now, I know you are the liar. You are what's wrong with ACG, Osprey.

If you say I more lie that I catch, you will permanently be banned from our site.

I'll say it again, I have not lied about any of this.

Hopefully, your behaviour on this site will not have a negative effect on ACG.

No matter what, under what circunstances, i could never imagine someone going on others home and accuse him like that. Ive always heard a saying that applys here. "Do your laundy work in private"... utterly shocked with this behaviour.

If you want a proper discussion on this then let's have it on Teamspeak or in a neutral place. All that happens here is there is a massive character assassination and locked thread, which will happen anyway no doubt. Seen it dozens of times against me and against many many very decent folk.

Freedom of speech my arse, North Korea more like. It's ATAG's home when convenient to ATAG, but at all other times is a 'free TF community'.

Despite all your efforts (bravo btw) the community has not grown. I swear COD has been cursed and still is.

Steady on Osprey old chum. This type of forum behavior is no good for the community, which is typically friendly, nor in my view, ACG's reputation.

I suggest such frank views are better expressed via a pm.

The only reason you get any sort of character assassination is through your own actions. You have called ATAG and it's members every name under the sun since this forum's inception. Your only agenda here has been to promote your own everything. There's easily 100 posts in public on your forum that lambast me with your childish insults along with other members here. You do the same thing when talking about other servers and ours alike.

Every single thing you don't agree with you go and act like a flipping 5 year old that's lost his toys. And now you're calling our members liars and saying this forum is like North Korea? The door will gladly hit you on the way out now.

    There's nothing to discuss.

ATAG's policy is to welcome everyone. Your policy is to let only those who adhere to your group in. These two policies contradict each other hence I'm going to ask you to please stop using this forum, which operates under ATAG's open policy, to advertize on a close policy group/event.
From this point forward, any such thread will be deleted.

With that said, and jsut to clarify, if you need to advertize any open event, you are still welcome to.

As always, everyone belonging or not to any squadron is welcome to our servers and forum every day. This includes AGC.

By the way, you have been enjoying the freedom of speech in this forum all this time even though some of your posts can border in the "no disrespect to others" rule. As such, you are still welcome to post in this forum but only as long as you follow the basic rules of respect to others.
