    Custom keyboard

hello gentlemen, i got bored of using the keyboard for controling my plane, so i decided to hack an old one i had around and turning it into something cooler

so this is the old keyboards circuit.

and with the the help of a pic16f1823 microcontroller i had around the house, it turned into this

i know i could have used another micro with more pins to have more buttons but i had only this one available at the moment. maybe ill do this for version 2.0

i also made this cap for using with freetrack.

so thats my setup, plus a logitec extreme 3d pro (pretty basic stuff there i know)

so, if anyone is thinking about doing something similar, y could point you in the right direction or give you all the files related to the project.

have a nice weekend and see you up above!

    Good job buddy.....

As for the logitech extreme 3D pro...I had 2 of these brand new when I first started flight simming around 10 years ago....Both had rudder potentiometer problems...Then I found that it is a common problem with them...so I did some homework...asking the best players I could at the time...I got a lot of feedback and found that most were using the Microsoft Sidewinder 2...Thats what I still use today....Its well worth it and you can find them on ebay very cheap

    Re: Custom keyboard

    thanks for the comments.

and Kiwi, its not hard to do at all, not even without my help, though you would need something to program PICs from your computer (inexpensive pickit3) as most of the other tools arent as necesary
