    Mission "Night intercept"

I suggest to make mission "night intercept". The map - English Channel. From both parties AI bombers (Blenheim's, Wellington's, He 111, Ju 88, Do 17) fly up, and players on the night fighters Bf 110 and Blenheim intercept them. They are helped by a radars.

I haven't done much playing around at night in CloD yet. It is on my to do list, but I think for online play it might be tricky.

Interesting idea for a bomber night. But with human bombers.

Well, though to one person it was interesting.
Guys, you are afraid of the night dark or difficulties?

    Hi Sandy,
Night missions have proved problematic in the past when run on the server. Mainly visual as all monitors are not created equal and if you are viewing a night mission during daylight hours it is virtually impossible to see even the ground on the screen. Additionally, lighting strips need to be employed, runway illumination of some sort, beacons for airfields. Folks can fly around all "night" and not see anything to engage. Previous night missions were shifted to start pre-dawn and it ended up with most folks flying as low as possible to get a visual against the lightening sky.

From my recollection, the server dropped to almost nil participants when a night mission used to come on.

Nothing to do with being afraid of the dark but rather a futile experience online from past experience.

So, in a nutshell . . . been there, done that and didn't really work from my perspective.

    Cheers,
    Cats . . .

This kind of mission is good for "Special Events", like il-2'46 Bomber Nights.

    Re: Mission "Night intercept"

    Catseye, thanks for the answer!
Certainly I didn't mean full darkness of night. We are yet not ready to it. I meant early rising or a late decline when something else is visible. The problem too isn't solved with searchlights yet. But it could be very much thrills!
I understand that such mission will be interesting to very small number of players.

Really, as wrote Hans Gruber, it is possible to use players bombers.

    P.S. I don't demand - only the offer.

    Re: Mission "Night intercept"

Not sure how early you are looking for, I am about 70% done with a mission I am making for ATAG that has a 7:30 autumn start, so the sun rise is still pretty low on the horizon... we'll see the response soon enough.
