    A request for map builders

Obviously map builders are completely free to make their own maps, but I've noticed a lack in all the maps I've seen so far in ATAG....with Kanalkampf, Fall Rot and Relinquish we covered almost all COD "universe", but we never had targets in the London Area, except for London Raids which had a fuel depot at the very very east end of the city. I think it could be fun to use all the London Belt airfields for defense and set targets spread in the city, also for navigation issues. Just a whish anyway, and thanks again for your great job

I don't know how to make multiplayer missions but as always, I'd be happy to help prepare London's AA defenses...the city was thick with it. AA Command got a bad rap during the Blitz because the Luftwaffe operated primarily at night, when the effectiveness of pre-radar fire control was limited. Daylight raids to London should make for quite a fireworks show.

I don't think any of the buildings in London have damage modeling, so designing missions for blitz bombing of the city will need to include some creative placement of "bombable" targets within buildings in order for there to be any sign of an attack having taken place.

Yeah, I think specific targets for daylight raids might be power plants, factories, 10 Downing Street, etc.

I agree Marcast and that's a cool thought. I'd love to go bombing London. Even going over to bomb Biggin Hill on London Raids was great fun. It would be cool to have a bombing target over in central London- it could be something easily destroyed but worth the long and dangerous trip!

Hey Trademe, we've just finished revamping London raids to remove the wall of death and implement some additional features.

That's great news! I presume it will be put into the atag server 1 mission rotation, right?

    It's already running elsewhere.

A trick to make things more immersive in IL2 was to put fuel barrels under a ship or Hangar to make it burn for a while. I am not sure if clod got fuel barrels with damage model but if they are present it could be fun having them placed around the targets so it looks like burning houses

Thats how I made the "Dam" in Relinquish. The concrete docks I used are not destructible, so I hid a bunch of the large fuel storage tanks and trucks in the water right in front of it to it to make it an actual target and have awesome explosions.

I got a new mission in the works right now that is not "realistic...." but utilizes the area of map where you don't see much, above Isle of Wight and left of London. But sides are there and the front runs through England which obviously isn't real but neither is flying a Spitfire from my lazy-boy chair while sipping a tasty adult beverage.

You can use a different method in COD. Use scripts to spawn-in a large fire object in the position of the destroyed object at thew time it's destroyed.

    S!

It would be nice to have some consistency on the maps' plane sets. I can fly jabo missions in France before BoB, but then on the next (Kanalkampf?) I have no bomb carrying 109's or 110's? It is frustrating to try bomb something in a Ju88 or similar when you get no escort because of the huge air quake going on at the usual places. In a Bf109E-4/B or Bf110C-7/Late I could stand at least some chances in doing hit and run missions instead of being a big friggin' "Shoot me" sign flying around the skies
