    The Best Pilot(s) You Know

I would just like to know which pilots made the biggest impact on all of you.
Personally (not in order of importance) my picks would be:

    Pepe
    Karaya
    Hans Gruber
    Heiden
    Philstyle

(not a pilot but a squadron)
    69th Squadron

I'd like to hear everyone's opinion.

    Blasto
    Trademe
Macro (who flies like a UFO and lives in a submarine)
Cujo (who taught me so much)
    Karaya (duh!)
    Knutsac
sKylon (my favourite german pop star)
Gromit (just because he flies the Hurricane and does miracles with it)
Snarglepuss (the deadliest Blennie pilot ever)
Snapper (who understands the altitude game)

And DRock, who might not be one the best pilot but who has the best leadership skills I've ever seen in ATAG.

I propose my name for the worst pilot.

    For individuals:

    Trademe
    Karaya
Snargle (Never a better Blennie sniper.)
    Snapper
    Paranoid
MadMax will kill you with the ultimate dogfighting skills - in a Stuka!

In terms of groups or pairs:

    Pan/Dave
    Karaya/DUI
Flying with 71st means I'm almost guaranteed to survive and they seem to have the most fun shooting down Germans.

Chuck you may call yourself the worst pilot (i don't think it's true) but you make the best movies so it's all good!

And of course the best (and as far as i know only) 14 year old behind a joystick, the one and only Flare. Ever heard of him?

True words, salute to all Bomber jockeys of red and blue and a special "Respect!!!"
to the Hurrie / 110 jockeys

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

I struggle with the "best pilot" sentence. What is one? The guy who makes 10 kills or the one who makes 1 and gets back alive? Or ist aicraft handling?

Ok since its based on personnal assessement here it goes (might surprise some since i havent seen the names quoted by anyone).

Without any relevant order but starting with old names

CIA_Elanski - Give him a few hours and he gets the most of any aircraft. Know him for years, very talented and excellent gunnery

JV44Rall - Same as above, deadly with his marksmanship. Very gifted on plane handling.

HR_Zunzun - Very good aicraft control, flys mostly allied (never saw him in another ride) and one of the best with tactical control of a fight.

Klaus_Kaltherzig (109) & Snapper (SpitIIA) (diffrent persons) - You will rarely see them in a scrap, but if you spot a contrail one of them is watching you. Mentality of birds of prey. That combined with patient makes them very dangerous.

ZG76_Keller - Same mentality of Klaus and Snapper, but he does it in his 110. Very good awareness.

trademe900 - The all planes office guy. Knows them inside out, which gives them upper hand on many encounters. Excellent marksman.

Valec - Agressive like few, very good handling control and throws bullets at enemys like few. Seen him in all fighter variants the game has.

Gunther - Cold bloody murderer. Doesnt give a chance to the enemy. Absolute altitude and tatical control on any encounter.

BR_Alessandro/Jorge & OKA - GermanWolf with anyone of his squad - All very effective and give no quarel.

Karaya - evryone else stated why

ATAG_Endless - He has been consinstentaly building up his knowledge on the 109. Getting to be a top ace on that bird very soon. He is alredy a ACE ... on the way to the top

Falco - I intended to post his name here, but had to edit the thread, because i could not forgive myself if i didnt post his name on this list. Great skills, very knowledge of his 109, agressive and doesnt avoid a good scrap.

    Honour mentions (cant put evryone)

71s, 69 squad, TUSA, AKA and all that work in a combined duo/squad. Very dangerous if you are on the receiving end.

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

    Well for me:

    - Everyone from the 71st
    - Everyone from the 69th.
    - Karaya (for, well, obvious reasons)
    - Heiden (for his 109 tutorials, and for getting shot down so rarely)
    - Trademe
    - Haza
    - Vranac and Tyrone from my own squadron
    - Robo from my old squadron. Never seen someone handle the Hurricane so well - and that's saying something considering Haza and Trademe are also in this list.
    - Hardegen (I will actively avoid attacking a 110 if I think Hardegen's the one flying it. Very dangerous fellow!)
    - The gents of 4./JG26, for always being fun to fly with if I'm up late and in a 109 mood.

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

Far be it for me to compliment my enemies, but I find the 310 guys particularly challenging because they coordinate very well in a large group.

Also, Snarglepuss............. I have never died so many times killing bombers as I do when he's flying. I have died from his bomb drops on more than one occasion while attacking him at low altitude. He's the only Blennie pilot I think twice about pursuing because it rarely ends well for me.

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

For their videos that taught me to fly both the 109 and Spitfire: Heiden, Philstyle, and ApeoftheYear

For pilots that make the game more immersive: DRock(although I meet him when I was flying blue, now that Im red I cant stand him and his G.50 )
Rebel Squirl (the main reason I wanted to join 71st. Excellent flight lead in both communication and tactics)

Blue pilots in don't like seeing in the match: Grube, Karaya, Hardegen(hate that damn 110 ) and Lolsav

Red pilots I prefer to fly with: No.71 Squadron

Also want to give Lewis a big Without his helpfulness to new pilots, our ranks would be a lot thinner.

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

I don't quite get this. In terms of genuine skill I can list a few over the years, the influence depends on what sort of person they are surely

334th_Eagle_1 A brilliant pilot and patient tutor
LG_Blakhart (Luftgangsta) banned from this forum almost immediately, what a waste, so much air combat knowledge and just so damn good.

Snapper edit: Agree. Ban lifted. PM to Blakhart and you sent.

No.501_Robo just one of those stand out pilots
=XIII=Jef a natural flyer, just really bloody good in anything

There are quite a lot of friends over the years who are really good, my list would be massive so this is really selective and I know these people, it doesn't include those who I think are good but I've never spoken to.

I only know a handful of people who plays and they all suck worse then me (afton) but Karaya and his cohorts are worth looking up too.
And for some reason i have started to fear =AN=Nova, i always get shot in the face....

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

I haven't been very active these pasts 5 months, but here is my list anyway:

    In terms of deadliness:
Trademe: excellent pilot wether it be in a Hurricane or a Bf-109, and the coolest guy in the skies.
    Karaya
Snarglepuss: how many times have I gloated while diving on a Blenny thinking I'd make an easy kill, only to find myself with bits and pieces falling from my aircraft....

    Special mentions:
ATAG_Lewis: Very friendly, always helping newbies like I was with big tutorial posts on the forum. Helped me countless times that way, wether I was the one asking for help, or simply reading through old threads.
    Chuck_Owl: For the awesome videos.
    Apeoftheyear: See above.
ElGringo: One of the first pilot I flew with, deadly in German planes. Always had a good time, even though I didn't help much.

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

To me the best pilots make it back to base. Anybody can jump into a furball and get kills
before they get shot down or abandon their plane. Just my opinion.
    Red.
Robo and Valec are top shelf.
Dave and PanTast are getting to be a pain in the a$$ as well.
    Jeepy
    Macro
Just to many good pilots to list all of them.

    Blue.
    Gruber
    Karaya
    Vit Unit
    Little D
    Falco

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

I think the best pilots are those you do not know. Because they fly in different timezones. Because they fly the other color.

And what makes a best pilot? One that keeps his buddies alive? One that avoids situations he cannot win/survive? One that keeps the communitiy going? Or the special one that does not complain when you shoot him down the third time on this map?

We all need them. We need the "cannonfodder" and the eagles. We need the bomber jockeys (the unsung heroes of CloD) and the Karayas. We need the pairs like Gruber and Lopp.

I only can favour pilots I know and that I talked to. I very much love:

69th_fab48 for his extremely nice way to treat people
69th_RedHawk for his extremely nice way to treat people
JG4_Continu0 (thanks mate for helping me in my beginning)
    TWC_FATAL_ERROR for calling me brother
JG4_DUI for making me ask myself if he is Tim Bendzko and his charming calm voice in the JG4 videos
71st_AH_RebelSqurl the flying bombing encyclopedia - man I love your dialect
71st_AH_dB the man with the diapers

I love all ATAG pilots EDIT: and only an insider will ever know how they struggle to keep the community going

    But number one is:

    tataaaaa

    ATAG_Dave

I might be the only one recognizing his extreme SA and skills getting out of dangerous situations. He has an unnatural spotting skill. And he has days with extreme bad luck. Otherwise he would have already beaten the 50 mission challenge several times.

I want to thank every one who mentioned me, but I consider myself an average pilot - having the luck to fly with ATAG_Dave.

Lets stay competitive in the skies and peaceful in the community.

John Lydgate: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

First off: I did not expect to see so many nominations on my part lol

There's a whole host of very skilled squadrons and pilots out there and I dont think I can do justice to them all but these are the ones that stick in my mind

    Squadrons
    71st_AH
    ATAG
    9./JG52
    all of ACG
    EG14

They are all more than capable of either ruining your day or of being vital allies depending on which side you are flying

As to skilled pilots I can only speak based off of those I come across or fly with regularly - these would certainly have to include:

    Blue
Reinhart (just an overall great pilot - I always have tons of fun flying with him)
Immel (very disciplined and tactically minded flier)
Lolsav (He's a great pilot in both bombers and fighters)
    madmax (for the Stuka shenanigans)
    Gerd (very skilled Bf109 pilot)
Hardegen (for his daring Bf110 flying)

    Red
Pepe (he's given me the most head aches so far including some of my toughest 1on1s)
Trademe (I'm always twice as concentrated & paranoid when he's flying his Hurricane)
Gromit (for the same reason as Trademe)
RebelSqurl (a good alrounder just like Lolsav)
SnarglePuss (for being a very aggressive and skilled Blenheim pilot)

I have deliberately not included specific pilots of JG4 in here because I guess it would just come off as blowing one's own trumpet here... I'll let you guys make your own mind up about our fine squadron!

As for most influencial it definitely has got to be fellow JG4 member DUI for me as I simply fly with him the most and he has taken up the role of the "voice of reason". He's also the only guy I know who will almost always take an E-1 no matter what the plane set AND be successful in it. Also his situational awareness is top notch as is his gunnery...

Re: The Best Pilot(s) You Know

As I'm rather new around here, I don't know that many pilots, but some have been influential, mostly through videos:

Mr X and his awesome deflection shooting
Karaya, from whom I'm learning a great deal just watching him do his thing (and also getting shot down when I do venture on the red side)
    Ape and his great videos
Philstyle, same reason, made me want to try the spits too
gr00ve, whom I mostly ran into in WT, but he is a monster

And also Ze_Hairy, but I don't know if he plays CLOD that much. I got decent at flying the 190s mostly because of him.

Regarding actual encounters in CLOD, Pepe is definitely the red pilot I admire the most. I've seen him survive in the middle of a whole gaggle of 109s for so long, it was surreal. Also shot me down a few times, obviously.
