Title says it all.
I've tried to force it into DX9 with a shortcut appendix and changed the conf.ini line from Render=D3D10_0 to Render=D3D9.
Neither works.
Does anyone have an answer?
Cheers

I think the TF patches don't work in DX9.
Will running the game in Windows XP compatibility mode force it into DX9?
When I change the line to D3D9 the launcher crashes after 10 seconds upon launching the game.
ah! XP! Its not a 64 bits so i have to ask straight away: How much memory does that system have? The crashes could not be related with D39 but with something else. If you have 3 or 4 gigs there might be hope
To enable the 3GB switch
Right-click Command Prompt in the Accessories program group of the Start menu. Click Run as Administrator.
At the command prompt, enter "bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072"
Restart the computer.
To disable the 3GB switch:
Right-click on Command Prompt in the Accessories program group of the Start menu. Click Run as Administrator.
At the command prompt, enter "bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa"
Restart the computer.
P.S. Why would someone want to run this game on XP still beats me. If it runs the performance is expected to be bad...
I have 8GB of ram.
I am trying to get a .dll wrapper to work that manipulates shaders. The wrapper program only runs in DX9.
I want to scan for shaders that mess up a stereoscopic experience and alter them/turn them off entirely. I had hoped it would work and indeed a more recent program of the sorts sounded promising, but is only designed for dx11.
I was then told to try and run the game in dx9 to make the older wrapper work, but apparently not even that works.
'I can't catch a break' is probably the English phrase best used here. :-D
SweetFx interacts with what you are talking about (i believe), but the person who can tell you more alredy has noticed this thread, so if he has something to tell he will post on his own. I mentioned SweetFX hoping you could check how they did that. Ive seen the d3d9.dll when SweetFX is installed, but i believe the program drops the dll there.
