20th Bomber Group

The 20th Bomber Group is looking for dedicated bomber pilots to join our little group.
Formed in November 2013, we are still a young squad. The 20th started with two friends that loved to blow stuff up, bomb high level or low sneaky strike style and it went on from there.
We now have six pilots,four bombers that are active right now and two fighters that join us once in awhile.
We currently fly Cliffs Of Dover, Rise Of Flight, DCS and a little bit of Battle of Stalingrad. We do go back to IL2 1946 sometimes as well. It is not a requirement to have all the games listed. Our main game is Cliffs.

The 20th is a very laid back squad. Our motto is "Fly when you can and real life comes first." We do not have military type ranks or a set squad night to fly but do participate in the Storm Of War server and fly missions Sunday afternoons EST if we can. You can find us in the ATAG server as well as the 401 server sometimes.

We are mission based and try to fly to live, hit the target and land at our base in any server. Flight plans and targets are made in advance. At muster all pilots are briefed on the how, what and when.

We work with other fighter and bomber squads you see around here. The 71st, 54th, EAF, just to name a few. In Cliffs the Blenheim IV is our weapon of choice until we get the Wellingtons. ROF its a toss up, HP400, Gotha's or any two seater and will fly either side if need be. BOS we fly red.

All skill levels accepted. If you can take off and land it we can show you the rest. I always say to any pilot thinking about joining the squad.. Come fly with us a few times first. Then you can make up your mind. Teamspeak is needed.

Dear 20th,

The 71st usually have a "CloD night" on Wednesday evenings. We have capable Blennie pilots and great fighter escorts. If you want to put on a show, let us know in advance and we'll wing up together.

Sounds good Chuck. Let see if we can get something going for this week or next. I'll jump on your TS and try to get up with you guys before Wednesday so we can get a plan together. Maybe we can get some of the other squads with bombers in their ranks to join in. A big wing night would be fun!

You ever go blue?

I'm the kind of dude who sits and plans out my route before I leave. I don't mind going 40 minutes out of my way if necessary. Not a huge fan of taking off and heading directly to target but I can't expect others to enjoy the same thing I do and often tag along with others.

Honestly I'm not a giant fan of blue, but that is mostly what I fly because it is more rewarding to me to take a handful of 88s to target and see the percentage climb up from 0 to like 80.

When's the Wellington going to be available?

We split our time in SOW and ATAG. We stay red most of the time. But will go blue if the numbers need it. You're more than welcome to wing up with us anytime.
You can sign up on our forum for more info on times we get together. Link is in my sig. Most of us are East or Central time zones but we fly at all hours just depends on who's up and online.

I'd like to update and welcome from a co squad in 1946.. Yorktown, Banshee, Zights, and Paladin to the 20th and to TF Cliffs. Training and setup are going well. Lew's beginner guide as well as Chuck's Blennie guide have helped a lot for them. Should be combat ready in two weeks TM

Hope to be at full strength for the next Bomber challenge.
