Team Fusion Update March 27th 2015 - Learning to Fly (and some awesome stuff! :) )

    Okay, here we go.

First, please don't forget to 'Like' our Facebook page...we're nearing 1000 followers and maybe if we reach 1000 I'll post a little exclusive content over there too (like I just did )

    https://www.facebook.com/teamfusionmod

Today's update is another short one but hopefully the video will give you a lot of things to discuss and hope for the future development of Cliffs of Dover.

So firstly in the video you'll see our work to make one of the aircraft available to the Luftwaffe, flyable and as a trainer for those who wish to learn with an axis aircraft. Currently the Allies have the Tiger Moth but the Axis....nothing for training. That is going to change and is shown in the video

Now, what can I say about the next piece of news? Well to be honest....I wont. Please just watch the video and prepare to see some of the work in progress from one of our talented modellers who is creating a 'Pearl' that we hope to have ready to fly for v5.00. This work is painstaking, takes a huge amount of personal time and yet the dedication of our guys to make these models for the community to fly, for free (let's not forget that!) is just awe inspiring.

Team Fusion are always on the lookout for talented modellers so if you have or know of anyone with the skills to add features to the Sim, please ask them to read this thread and get in touch:

    http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.co...ad.php?t=11129

It is essential that I point out, Team Fusion are a small group of guys, doing this for a hobby and fun. Each of us has lives outside of this and we can only mod when time allows us to. Everything that has been shown since the previous release (yes, we know, over a year ago!) is all work in progress and as such is not guaranteed to appear in Patch v5.00, that is however our disclaimer. While it would be great to have everything showcased ready when v5.00 is to be released, honestly we cannot promise that....but we will and are trying.

Thanks for your patience, we know, as we are part of this community, that it's been a long wait....but rest assured, there will be a v5.00....and we are working hard to make it happen sooner rather than later....just please keep the faith

As always, thanks to Artist for preparing the details of the bugtracker:

    From the Team Fusion Bugtracker

    Yess!! A P-40!

Still waiting for my Spit V, but this is amazing! It's seeming to lead more to north Africa than Malta now. I wonder what patch 5 will bring us.

EDIT: Posted on Steam community page

    Great update MP

The reason the embedding wasn't showing up is because you need to use the long youtube links. This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyxc...ature=youtu.be

    I fixed it for you!

I can't wait for this patch. This is just freaking incredible. I really hope I can get my 3D modelling to a good skill level where I can help with some of the things that other 3D modellers won't have to worry about like the control tower that I'm working on.

Thank you yet again for all your hard work and quick question: will the ME-108 get any weapons similar to how the tiger moth may be getting some weapons?

    Cheers,
    Eagle

Thanks Team Fusion. I'm always excited to see these updates and today was no exception.

I feel like a kid in the back seat during a long journey. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

    Thanks for presenting, MP.

Merlin-powered P-40 coming for DCS, Allison-powered one coming for CloD. Rest of 2015 and 2016 are shaping up nicely for Warhawk lovers. Despite having my mouth full of dinnner food while watching the update clip above, I just couldn't stop myself from going "OOooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhh!" when the first render showed up

Edit - Oh, my first post after registering two years ago. That's how important this P-40 is!

Re: Team Fusion Update March 27th 2015 - Learning to Fly (and some awesome stuff! :)

I have to clarify what was posted in the video re. the Bf-108 'Taifun':

The game provides the Tiger Moth as a Level 1 Basic trainer... for BOTH sides.

The Tiger Moth is essentially the equivalent of the Buckner Jungmann basic trainer which the Luftwaffe used.

What we are doing by making the Bf-108 flyable, is providing an intermediate trainer which BOTH sides can use.

The somewhat similar equivalent would be the Miles Master for the British or the AT-6 Texan/Harvard for the US, although both of those had more power than the Taifun.

The Taifun wasn't really a trainer, more used as a light transport for officers, but its level of complexity is higher than a Tiger Moth, with variable pitch, landing flaps, retractable undercarriage, etc. So it will provide another opportunity for inexperienced players to transition to the higher performance aircraft.

Niiice! Not only one but two new training planes for LW pilots: One to learn flying and one to learn shooting.

The P40 model looks absolutey amazing. The covering animation in the video was great! I first was wondering what this unfinished 3D model might be just to see some moments later the plane in full shape.

Am I mistaken or is there a new "gear down"-sound for the 108?

    @DB 605 & Rich: Happy birthday!

@MP: Where is the exclusive content on Facebook? Do I have to be logged in to see it?
I think the video link on FB does not work.

    HOLY CRAP,

I can not believe what you guys have/are achieving, simply incredible.

P40 is my most fave plane, dunno why, it just it! This is far more than I ever could of expected or hoped for. I was more than satisfied with the new proposed content half a dozen or more updates ago. Amazing work. God I love Fridays.

    You guys rock.

    Cheers.

The model of P-40 shown is a P-40E with an Allison engine. This is the short bodied version of the P-40, later versions had a lengthened fuselage.

We are also hoping, (no guarantees) to have a P-40F with a Packard Merlin V1650-1 as well. The F model uses the same body as the E, but with the Packard copy of the two speed supercharged Merlin XX. (same engine which equipped the Hurricane II)

AFAIK there were also a couple of 108s in service with the RAF as well, so that kinda fits.
