A BIG Thanks to the Blue side here, who really impressed me on this one!
Very nice, a big formation of bombers like that is perfect for my shooting style

What style dB? Pray and spray?

If y'all can muster 17 HE 111s why do you need me for bomber nights? do your own thing!
71st and Logan should be talking to these folks. I can go back to flying for fun.

Seriously, who is that? Anybody know? We could use them. They would make my life far easier and provide you all with some competition and targets.

Well to me it is a little typical, and this video shows why it is not happening too often. It is frustrating to gather a box of 17 Heinekens just to get torn to pieces. At the same time it is not fun doing it without opposition. To get a adequate defense a box like this need 34 fighter escort . And that is maybe asking to much. Anyway it is occasion like this giving me hope for the future in this genre, way to go
Personally I like flying when the server got 30 + players. You stand a chance while flying over the channel but still there is a huge risk.
Sombody mentioned this squadron might be OBT. What does that stand for? Do they have a web site?
It's a French Community :
PS: OBT's website :Hi everybody
I was part of the bomber group you down in 2 minutes ..
It has been 3 weeks since we work on this project: "bomber box with maximum player"
here:
http://www.checksix-forums.com/viewt...=unread#unread
But the organization of departure is:
http://www.checksix-forums.com/viewt...f=412&t=188980
We organize this test once every year or every 2 years.
We'll have to wait for next time is difficult to gather players.
There were OBT, but also:
I / JG2
IRRE
PB0
etc ...
We had about 7 Bf109 in escort, but the bombers are too easily destructible in this sim, one bullet in the engine and it is HS
Gunners have a beginner level, while HE111 IA are AS (this is a bug ......)
Hoping that the next MOD TF improves fault bomber, we will love to try it soon

You don't need 34 fighter escorts... I don't think there were 35 reds swarming on these bombers. Many fighters got 2-3 bomber kills by themselves.
In these kind of raids, numbers do matter but leadership has a key role. 10 fighters with a clear mission and an established structure will be much, MUCH more effective than 15 leaderless fighters flying in a general direction. The role of fighter escorts is to provide protection to the bombers, or at least to deny the enemy access to the bombers themselves. If the escorts are not organized, even with a big number of fighters the bombers are highly likely to get mauled before they reach target. The escorts need to be divided into flights with leads that communicate with each other. Falling short of that standard leads to an almost guaranteed failure since enemy intercepting fighters benefit greatly from chaos and disorganization among the escorts. The best tactic is to keep a flight high over the bombers (so they can boom anyone that looks remotely suspicious with the energy advantage) and to send a flight 1-2 minutes ahead of the bombers so most of the Defending forces are already busy fighting at lower altitudes.
Also, I see that the bombers arrived over England at 18,000 ft... which is one of the easiest ways to get killed. Bombers should always dare to go higher, even if it costs them an extra 5 minutes to gain that additional 2,000 or 3,000 ft. An altitude of 24,000 ft is generally considered "safe". Anything under 22,000 is death to bombers. At contrail height, it makes the escorts' jobs so much easier when they can spot incoming bandits.

Spitfire pilots in a nutshell:
"Hurricanes are shit planes for remtards on free dinners. This is me being them, right: "Ohh ohh, I'm flying a Hurricane, it's a shit plane, I'm rubbish and my mom goes chippy in her slippers!""

O! if only that cursor wasn't always right in the middle.
