An enormous amount of credit should go to the (unknown) person who first created the skin for CoD. There is an amazing amount of detail on the skin. I only changed just the colours on this skin, but the bump maps and rivet details etc. are, from the outset, outstanding.
Thanks to those original skin makers.

'Plane-shine' was introduced with the latest versions of the TF updates ('mods'). Before that the planes looked non shiny (matt).
The introduction of the shine made the older skins look too dark. And it also made the colours look a bit different too. That is why I state which of my skins are made for using with plane-shine. They are lighter skins, made to work with the latest TF updates. If used with earlier versions of the game they will be too light.

I have reason for saying why my newer skins are designed to be used with plane-shine: My older skins weren't. They were made pre TF4. If you search for my skins you will find some older ones and some newer ones. The older ones will be ok to use, but will look too dark if used with the latest versions of the game. Hopefully I'll find time to update the colours of all my older skins so they look ok with TF4/4.31

I think it makes sense to create skins that work with the present version of the game, and not so they only look good in the outdated versions of the game.

What you are doing is the very best, I have just flown a mission using your Hurricane, KW-Z skin and the Bf-109E-1 set, the game has never looked so realistic!
I am really looking forward to your new work, CoD has just gotten a whole lot better!

Very nice skins but I have to ask, shouldnt the brown be more brown? The green color seems correct bit the brown seems a but too bright no?

The squadron codes are strange... the individual letter is where the squadron letters usually are, and vice versa... what's the history behind this aircraft?

Skinning always means making a compromise. I might try and do a version with a redder brown at a later time.
Actually, if you look at the skin under cloudy conditions I don't think the brown looks too light.

According to Mysticpuma the pilot was 'Eric Carter who flew with 615 Squadron and then transferred to 81 Squadron who flew in Vaenga, Murmansk with the Russians'.

I agree. The game is looking good. It comes close to looking photo-realistic at times.

A couple more screenshots. In Black and white it's not far off looking like a photo IMHO.
