Team Fusion Update June 12th 2015 - Just proving we're still alive :)

Hi guys, yes, I know.....it's been AGES!!!!! Sorry for the lack of updates and news but there is little to visually report

Most of the current work is involved in coding work and also modelling work for the upcoming Theatre of Operations, so as the face of the PR for TF I have to work out what I can report and what not. Currently most of it is in the 'What not'

So look for the sake of proving we are still alive and working and that not everyone is out in the sunshine (or Thunderstorms here in the UK ) here are just a few images I have scraped together from around the TF pages. Please understand there is a lot more happening but until the powers above me agree for me to announce the new Theatre I can only show what isn't visually related.

So, I have posted a couple of these images on our Facebook page this week and also in another thread but the rest are new. Again, sorry it's a small update but hopefully this year will have a lot more updates coming more regularly as we get nearer the last few months

As always I'd like to thank Artist for putting together a Bugtracker report which can be seen here:

    From the Team Fusion Bugtracker

The bugtracker (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/projects/il2clodtf) keeps accumulating data: Since the last published update on April, 24th, 10 new users brought the total up to 888 registered users of which 62 have been active since then. We currently have 186 open issues (131 bugs and 55 feature requests). 2 have already been resolved with patch 4.312 and 21 are currently in progress to be fixed or implemented.

6 new issues have been raised since the last update, among them are (no judgment implied):
    • Reported Bug #753: "Propellor feather function Heinkel 111 H and P inoperable." (New)
    • Reported Bug #752: "Hurricane elevator trim wheel modelled in Cliffs Of Dover iL2 has incorrect textures for a Mk1 version" (New)
    • Reported Bug #750: "Effect of a green smoke in case of AMD CrossFireX and Nvidia SLI" (New)
    • Feature Request #748: "109 radiator position " (New)
    • Reported Bug #747: "HE 111: fuel pump operating levers work erroneously as supercharger operating levers." (New)

The issues with the highest (summary) vote currently are:
    • 55: #725: "BF 110 Airspeed" (New)
    • 48: #581: "RAF fighter engines incorrectly start cold in Multiplayer" (New)
    • 43: #614: "Large cloud formations do not appear in replay of track (.TRK) files" (New)
    • 40: #498: "Bf 109: Prop Pitch Inverted" (New)
    • 40: #690: "Bf 109: The Half Armor Plate in upcoming 109 Variants" (New)

There are a number of issues set on "Feedback". We kindly ask the authors to respond:
    • #489: "All Static Objects should have a destroyed model
    • #604: "Blenheim: fuel cocks incorrectly labeled
    • #669: "Bf 110: Navigational Lights
    • #670: "Bf 110: Landing Lights
    • #707: "Map near Folkestone
    • #716: "Texture
    • #718: "Ju-88: Sight cannot be moved to the left and to right
    • #731: "BR-20 bomb aimer CTD
    • #732: "Fiat BR-20 bomb aimind device can only be set to 2.700 meters
    • #733: "Hurricane Mk I Rotol 100: Course setter
    • #749: "Overheated cooling system shouldn't blow the radiator.

We invite all pilots to participate in the bugtracker either by reporting bugs, requesting features, and/or vote on issues. But before you do anything, please read the guidelines and FAQ here: http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/projects/il2clodtf/boards/4

The project will come along with the sands of time, I'm sure. We know we'll eventually get our just deserts. In the mean time, we'll just have to take the heat.

But I can't possibly guess what the new theater might be!

Yeah whatever. My arthritic hands will be unable to grasp the stick anymore by the time TF5 is realised. My neuropathy numbed feet unable to feel the pedals. My glaucomic eyes unable to see my (sexily curved 4D) twin screens. My calcified eardrums unable to hear the new sound files. My blocked arteries unable to cope with the excitement of seeing the download progress bar. Keep twiddling away Team Fusion, we shall meet in the eternal blue sky of the next life it seems...

You joke, but I wouldn't mind flying an "Aleutian Tiger":

I will admit: Before you edited your post and it briefly read "Alastair" instead of "Alaska," I quickly scoured the Internet looking for hints as to what "Alastair" could mean. Even ran through the Wikipedia list of people named Alastair hoping to find some pilot who fought in North Africa.

I guess hidden mysteries are more exciting than typographical errors.

Remember next time you are crying into your beer waiting for TF5.0 how the original CoD was ... how it is now ...and how the vids and screenshots of the upgrade look!
Many thanks TF, may your God go with you!

Sure they can! anything in particular???
Problem is that the "close up trees" turn into "far trees" fairly quickly at ca 300m and the close trees and far trees use two different texture files. The color of these two files must be pretty similar. Otherwise you end up with a scenario where the trees close up have one color and then suddenly at 300m they turn into a different color.. one must walk a fine line to make the transition as unnoticable as possible

Always love an update, big or small. My sympathies with TF. I want to disappear to my shed and work on ideas for controllers and stuff but High Command has an endless list of 'requests' decorating, carpet laying, childcare........

I do have a query, not a request, regarding the lack of reflections of trees etc. on water. They have never been in the game and maybe code for it just dosen't exist but are they on the list? Not at all important I know.

Well we have already mentioned the CR.42, Ju-88C2 variant, 109 E7, F variant (s) and hopefully our Axis modellers will have a chance to share some work with me in the next couple of weeks so I can share that too.

Hopefully Heinkel will still be around when we get this ready to launch

    Cheers, MP

Ok I know TF active develope CLOD members are few and dedicate their .free. time for all us.. but STILL I see no mention about solving TWO of the most important BUGS of this great game that affect 99% of online and off line game:

1 - NO Collision Tree = very common CHEAT in MP CLOD
2 - Bug of roads and bridges on Map = Vehicles/tanks etc. move often out of alignment of the road plus vehicles can't pass bridges.

I have reported about this from a long time here in this forum, but sadly I never have seen any annoucement or progres about solving these Two bugs.

cheers.. and however thank all Team Fusion for their work always.

Doesnt the tiny blister on the starboard engine cowling in the 2nd picture just aft of the spinner mean its a iib?

If indeed it is a Vb, hopefully the engine sound will include the "pan pipe" whistle sound at high speed flyby for which it was easily recognized by coast watchers on night duty.

I thought the Vb had that bump as well . . . ? I looked at pictures for quite a while this morning . . .

I'm not entirely sure of that cowling feature not be present on certain mkV frames... as the early mkVs were converted MkIIs...

the dead giveaway (at least the one I'm sure of) is the enlarged, more tubular oil radiator they had to create after the initial convertions were overheating.

I believe I've even seen some early merlin61 mkIXs with the teardrop blister on the lower starboard engine cowling.
