Just in the case it could be needed, has reference and to keep all the material of possible interest regrouped in one place I post here the link of another pilot reporting problems about the arguments discussed in this thread.

    Re: Atag server performances decreasing

    Name of Map- Kanalkampf
    Number of players online-
    objectives hit-
    Was AI active-
    player location-
    presence of Flak/bomb detonation-
estimate of #of planes in vicinity-
    clouds?-
    system specs-
    graphic settings-
    etc etc... -
did steam stay up partying too late last night -

Ships have been doing that for as long as I can remember. Without more specific info there is no way to find out if it's caused by the mission or anything in it, or at least gather more data for the 'long run'. Maybe TF or anyone who's looked into this before has some insight for us? I know it's been discussed before on the forum somewhere. As Vlerkies mentioned, a reconnect usually sets things where they should be.

Always delete the cache when things start getting weird. Most the time it works, and you can always reconnect as well, I've found that helps too but sometimes it just comes down to connection and steam.

I'm also experiencing more laggy issues with the server since 2-3 months.

Because I'm not worried by the heavy smoke, flak and crashsides, I didn't captured the map and time.
When I am getting hit by the enemy, I sometimes don't hear the impact sound, but I can see holes on my wings (like flak usually does) and rarely I don't even see them shooting when looking at my six.
Sadly I also see sometimes small bouncing and juddering aircraft when flying beside friendlies wich makes formation flight harder.
One time another 109 crashed into mine and Moose got credit cause I managed to get away from him, I didn't even know that a bullet hit me, no holes no serious damage though.

My ping is around 120 -150 from Austria.

    System:
    Windows 7
    i7 2600k
    GTX 780

    Re: Atag server performances decreasing

The main server has experienced some UDP flooding attacks lasting several hours (translation: the attack makes the internet very slow in the server) lately but I'm unsure if those attacks match the times when this happened.

    Re: Atag server performances decreasing

Several times in these forums, Colander has explained that it is not necessary to routinely clear the cache. On his advice, I have stopped doing this unless I have made a major change to something relating to graphics/display. (Drivers, Nvidia settings, etc).

I have not experienced any uptick in problems by following this policy. There's no need to "make" more work.

Is there any way that we, the users, can tell if this is taking place when problems arise?

My ping is around 40-50, and I see the same exact anomalies.
