    Hi All

Hi guys , just about finished with IL2 1946 . I've been trying to get CLOD going for some time now . I can run it fine and on high settings in single player mode but as soon as I try multiplayer the Launcher crashes .
Very frustrating as that's really the only way I want to fly this .I'll keep trying new fixes etc and who knows , might get to meet some of you up there some where , but hopefully not on my six .

Hi 341_Knight and welcome to the community.

You will find plenty of help and advice on the forum and ATAG_Lewis will be along soon to post his official welcome which contains a vast amount of tips and information.

This is a very friendly bunch of people who will go out of their way to help you. We all have the common interest in this magnificent flight sim which thanks to the guys at Team Fusion is the best out there.

I haven't been flying CloD long but I can tell you I love it. I have been lucky enough to find and fly with a group of great guys and we wing up when ever we can and have fun. So get onto Team Speak say 'Hi' and join us on the main ATAG sever. You won't regret it!

Cheers and hope to see you up there very soon.

    ~S~

Hello Knight - if you cant find a fix, just put a post in the technical forum with you system spec and what you've tried to date - someone will no doubt be able to help you quite quickly as many will have some experience of it.

    Re: Hi All

Welcome to the community and forums 341_Knight ...~S~

Many of us came from IL2 1946...for many years I flew it through the golden years of full servers and flying day and night with folks from all over the world...CLOD is in my opinion the natural successor to 46...and once you fly this there really is no going back...The only issue I found was the transition to full real multiplayer which really is where this sim excels...

make sure you post your system specs to give us some idea of what issues you may get...and we are a really helpful and friendly community here so we will do our best to get your issues ironed out...

You have some exciting years to come flying CLOD....especially as there is a new patch in the making with new theatre and flyables from the states...

    ==========================

Checkout the 'Beginners Guide'...for info and tips...It will save you a heap of time in getting up to scratch.....and its a really fun learning curve anyway..

    Beginners Guide Link Here

    Windows Management Guide

Also try youtube for startup procedures on all the aircraft...

I recommend getting in the online server as soon as you can take off if that's ultimately where you'd like to fly...I flew single player for 30 minutes before I took the plunge...The ATAG online server is a great environment to learn and there's not really any damage you can do in there as a new player.....It is also mission based just with real players trying to foil your objectives...If you are concerned then pick an airstrip furthest from the front line (there always is one or two on every map) and get some alt before you go hunting...You'll get tagged a lot but there are tricks you learn out of pure desperation in those first few weeks that you'll be able to use later...I know cos I still use the same tricks I learned then too because they work...and never underestimate the stall to get you out of a tight fix...That sometimes works too...

TeamSpeak is optional but you'll learn a whole lot faster with it even if you say very little once you are on the server...You are quite welcome to just listen if you feel more comfortable with that....so you don't actually need a mic either...Try it and see!...

Hi Knight.....great to hear that all goes well and that the 'set up' is complete. I'm sure we've had a few sorties together recently and I just wanted to say how much I'd enjoyed the company on Team Speak. Judging by the way those sorties went I'd say you've made a damn fine start to your CLoD career! Hope you had a great Christmas. I certainly did though I found it very difficult to escape real life and climb back in the cockpit for an illicit hour or three....too much home entertaining to do. But the New Year approaches and I'll be back 'in the air' come January 3rd. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you! Happy New Year!
