Well when it comes to PPL , you really just need health good enough, time and MONEY. I was about to take it 20 years ago, then I met a old friend just expired his. When I asked him why he let it go . He said it was just too expensive getting the hours pr year jus flying in circles. So I changed my mind.
And I cannot say I regretted that decision.
But this fella probably go for a career , and that is a totally different thing. And being in UK where things are more convenient for aviation, I probably would do the same

I had a few hours of rotary flight at one point. Five I think... I can look it up as I still have my trainee log book. (obviously !!)

But since I don't own a golden goose... that lapsed a good decade back.
