A Big Thank You to Lewis

This is just to say A Very Big Thank You to Lewis
Whom spent the best part of 3 hrs with me tonight, sorting out my Info-windows, Engine management and aircraft systems, by switching over from analogue to digital, which in turn has made flying my baby ( Spit 1a 100oct) Much Simpler, thereby freeing up valuable thinking/processing time to focus on the real job, that of Flying, navigation, spacial awareness, aircraft recognition, predicting the enemy's next move and last but definitely not least, Shooting the bad guys down.

It was also a pleasure just chatting with you in general and being the recipient of your kind, endless patience.

    Thank You Loads Lewis

Re: A Big Thank You to Lewis

He is a legend our Lewis.

Bards from times of yore have sung songs around many a RAF station about the man.

    One of the more popular sung with gusto and sung by Vera Lynn to rousing applause is;

    Lewis, Lewis
    To the 109 snappers
    He never threwus,

    Always there
    With an hour or three
    to spare

To make sure us newbies were OK
    So next time
At the Dawn of a new day

When we turned on our rig
We would have our heart set on CloD
To shoot down a 109 bod

    And to ask him nicely
    Please legend Lew
Can you set up my new Sig!

Hmmm maybe we should have a COD limerick contest

There was a young man called Lew
For the cunning red side he flew
    <insert words to finish limerick>

Or something like this (a childhood fave)

    Mary had a little lamb
    She fed it kerosene
One day it got too near a fire
    And its never since benzene

Sorry, carry on dont mind me

There once was a pilot named Lew
Someone said that he had loose a screw
But he flew like the devil
    "Never long straight and level"
Being one of the things that he knew

Re: A Big Thank You to Lewis

Well since we are onto limericks, I'll leave you with one of the classics, that i have from reliable sources, was written about our own ATAG_Dave.....

There once was a young man named Dave
Who kept a dead whore in a cave.
He said "I admit, I'm a bit of as shit,
But look at the money I save."

EDIT: Sorry, i got a bit carried away there....

To back up a bit, very nice post Susie. Very nice of you to give Lew the credit he deserves. He offers a lot to this community for sure.
I'm glad that your time was well spent and that you were able to sort out some issues thanks to Lew.
Now you get to enjoy the flying even more!

Looks like I have started something akin at ATAGVision - entries just as outrageous as the singing contest!

    Nice work all

There was a young fella name Farley
His limericks, crickey, they are narley
    What's he on!
The green stuff by the ton?
    Nahhh,
But you'd think he was channeling
    Bob Marley
    But he rates Lew
    One of our few.

    Good man Lewis

That's what this community is about, assisting people as much as possible to bridge the gap from new pilot to Ace, getting started is the more challenging bit. After that, blue skies and tailwinds!

Welcome to the madhouse Susie. Lots of fun and laughter to follow for sure.

There once was this pilot called Highseas
Who thought flying spitfires was a breeze
    As confused as he was
    Of land sea and stars
    In no time at all
    He realized his shortfall
And succumbed to the mighty 109 Rheinmetall
