Nice work sw1ive...most ingenious idea using the instrument panel illustration

I'm upgrading mine at the moment. Like sw1ive, I'm aiming to get the controls and switches in the 'right place'. I've scratch built my spade-grip, throttle quadrant and landing gear controls. The rudder trim, pitch trim and flap control are 3D printed from Rossco's designs at Shapeways.
The instrument panel dials are for 'looks' only. I'm collecting them off Ebay, some are 'genuine' others I'm hacking generic gauges with paint jobs and printed dials (as the oil and rad temp in the picture).

The CH Multi function panel will be retired once the blind flying panel is populated

Wow!
Very nice Invictus. I really should tidy mine up like that!
From the MFD surrounds I'm guessing you fly in DCS too? Triple screen plus in-game instruments or triple screen plus Helios? Any piccies of that?

Yes I fly a little DCS offline, and use a combination on ingame instrument display & Helios. I also use a tool called Ikarus which started as a fork from the old Hawgtouch tool but quite frankly blows HT and Helios out of the water. I've been privlaged to be on the test team and help the group of German coders to edit their documentation for English users. They are very close to releasing the tool so keep an eye out on the ED forums in the input section for more info. I will see if I can get a few pics of the M2000 setup I have been working on.
I also fly BMS offline as well and extract displays on the other monitors using MFD Extractor tool.

Ah right. I fly the in-game instruments on monitor #4 but of course they move with the cockpit when I turn my head so the MFD switches might only make sense when I'm looking forward and aligned with that part of the cockpit. I suppose I could run them on separate units. Maybe I'll do that when I've graduated from the F-15C

Oh ok...I misunderstood your original question. I use the lower central monitor for DCS display exports like Radar along with Helios and Ikarus to display controls like IAS, etc. I do something similar with BMS, except with BMS I use Lightning's MFD Extractor to export the display's over my network to a second computer (you can just see the second computer under the side table I built). The lower central monitor is connected to both my main and secondary computers via a KVM switch so I can quickly switch the display over to the second PC. I do the same thing with CLoD and the Virtual Cockpit (VC) tool as well....if I run VC on the same PC I run CLoD on the FPS hit is significant.
The small Compaq monitor to the lower right is connected solely to the second computer. I use it primarily to control the computer and also to run chat tools for Twitch when I livestream.
The two small monitors on the left arm with the Warthog throttle are USB touchscreens connected to the main PC. I use the one with the MFD attached to control things like TrackIR, Twitch, and Teamspeak. If you look at the display you can see I use Helios to project lables for each MFD button. I have the Helios profile setup to flash the label when the coresponding MFD button is pushed...it looks quite nice and "realistic". I use the second USB display to the left to run TS3.

This is more or less my setup.

I like to work and play out-doors. Lan parties are sadly out of the question. It's just too hard to move my set-up.
Hoping to craft a Joystick and pedals one day. This explains why my TrackIR does not work in the cockpit... I get Rock-Solid 1 FPS.

@Invictus, that really is a great setup. I have a switcher too, it switches the lower monitor between my main rig and my old "minimum CoD spec" PC which I can run as a CoD or DCS server for small missions. For a long while I ran just the one PC with a 22" central monitor and a smaller 'ex-office' 17" below. I added the main PC six years ago (retirement fund) and the three monitors just over a year ago. In CoD I use VC in the lower monitor.
I would not recommend the AOC 27" E2752vq monitors for flight sims as they appear washed out and in CoD I have to use Sweetfx to get enough colour contrast to see the dots at a reasonable distance although I am always the last to see them. DCS isn't anywhere near as bad but I can't use Sweetfx since 1.5/EDGE.

Sounds very similar to my setup. Thanks for the info on the AOC monitors....they recently went on sale pretty cheap on NewEgg and I considered buying them....these Viewsonics are pretty good with a nice refresh rate (1ms) but they are nearly 5 years old and LCD (not LED). I fear they will go one day soon. I'd also prefer something with a smaller bezel but it is what it is.

JoyLoc is out of business at some years... SimHQ article is from 2011.
Thought I'd show how i fly and race, only new to ClOD, most of my time has been spent in FSX, X-Wing Alliance and Star Citizen.
For flight,
And for racing,
For racing i also have separate module for shifter and handbrake,
