A dashboard picture with a purpose

    Gentlemen,
While I'm quite sure our wives and sweethearts would love to know that their pictures are proudly posted on our instrument panels as we fight our desperate battles over England and France, I have created something that may be a trifle more practical:

This is an updated version of my first effort, tailor-made from a scratch pad "liberated" from a famous London pub. I have included the Ju-87 which I somehow missed in my earlier efforts.

When posted to your dash, this will provide a quick reference to the Hun's wingspan allowing you to adjust the base bezel of your Barr & Stroud gun sight correctly so you can then set the range accurately. (You ALL are doing this and not wasting His Majesty's expensive ammunition, correct?)

The characters are too small to read for my old eyes, but if you have a zoom function (DEL, I think) as I do for scanning the instruments, they become quite readable.

NOTE: Epoch has generously offered to host the attachment. Link below:

    http://www.tacteam.org/clod/1.zip

Place this file in your Documents/1CSoftclub/IL2 Cliffs of Dover-MOD/Dashpics/Selected folder.

    Good hunting chaps!

    Thank you my friend-
Let me know how it works for you. I tried to upload as a .tga but it kept telling me the file was corrupted- maybe some bright type can sort this for us?

Suggestion for another dashpic: The take off list!

Oil rad, water rad, rudder trim, aileron trim (for bombers) and maybe the "Arm bombs" and salvo|series bomb drop choice.

I really like this but I think I see an oversight- no JU 87! Can it possibly be updated to include it?

Re: A dashboard picture with a purpose

I have a revised version, more vintage looking, with the Ju-87 added, but the manage attachments function doesn't seem to be working.
I think the uplink for attachments is broken.
    I will periodically try again-

    Hi chris455,

Thanks for trying to upload, sounds good.

It might upload if you change the type of file, try calling it .zip

    Cheers,

    Septic.

Re: A dashboard picture with a purpose

    Hello Septic,
It is in fact a zip, a zipped .tga
Same file type I was able to successfully upload when I first created the dashnote "mod".
I can't upload any other files either; I tried it as a troubleshooting measure.
I think it might be on the server side-

    Gents-
Our friend Epoch has graciously offered to host my latest version. Stay tuned and hopefully we will be able to provide a link here soon.
UPDATE: picture of new dashnote and link to .zip now on page 1 of this post. Thanks to Epoch!

Blast- there IS a typo regarding the Dornier.
    Much apologies gents-
I will try to upload an updated version as soon as time permits and this silly career of mine stops getting in the way.

Check the Do-17, I think it needs a revision.
