Ditching - can u get into dinghy?

Hi,

In il-2 after successfully ditching you could 'bail out' and end up in a dinghy. I've ditched a couple of times in clod and survived, opened the canopy but can't seem to get out. I checked the controls but didn't see anything. But could be missing something obvious.

Is this as far as ditching goes in clod or can you get out into a dinghy.?

It's because during BoB only 7 British pilots was rescue from sea. You are in the unlucky group.

In fact the only way modeled on game to pilot leave the plane bailout. No other option, on land or sea.

Saying thay, how cool woulndt it be to have search a rescue implented at some point in a simple form. Pilot in the water must wait for a recog plane to fly close enough to simulate spotting you and then u are allowed to respawn. Maybe even one the planes that can land on water will land next to u and pick u up...I know it will never happen but would be cool!

Something like in old Il-2 online wars , where, if you bailed out and landed, another friendly plane could land nearby you and "take you home" safely, so you did not lost your personal status, stats, etc.
Air-Sea rescue was never modelled either, though. It would be nice for both sides, provided He-115 and Walrus would be made flyables.

1.- Be called
2.- Take off
3.- Fly to where you are
4.- Land
5.- Take off
6.- Fly towards a base
7.- Land

All this with the HUGE possibility of the plane being shot down

HR CLOD WAR have rescue, a multi-crew plane land near a downed pilot that click on crew position and get aboard.

For Sea Rescue things get complicated, the downed pilot need a Ding or at least a functional Mae West to stay afloat... and CloD need a flyable seaplane with capacity to land on water - none of these include can do this properly... They have "cat behavior" over water.

To simplify, a Ding/Mae West or capacity to pilot float and a fictional "Fulton" system to pick the pilot on water, the rescue plane - e.g. Blenheim, Me 110 - just fly near the pilot, enabling the already existing function of select place on plane.

Why not one or several planes in an online map setup on every side could be rescue seaplanes? Or, in the future (no doubt) CloD Cooperative Missions.....One can dream, why not?

I think something like this where you at least can get into the dinghy, and not dying in your sinking pane would be good, because right now i find it anointing when i ditch and i just die anyway, makes ditching a bit pointless...

Why do you die? I ditch all the time then I despawn in the same way I would if I had landed on land.

it sseems to happen when you ditch a bomber
