Four Single missions modelled after actual actions from August 12th 1940. In each mission you can choose to fly either for the RAF or the Luftwaffe. There are no units pre-selected for the Single player so you do need to choose the Custom button from the launch page and select your unit.
These missions require TFM Mod 4.3
Mission 1: Early morning raid on the Radar installations at Pevensey, Rye, Dover and Dunkirk
Sixteen 110s from Erpr.Gr.210 approach Beachy Head at low level. They turn North and as they cross the coast they split into 4 sections and head for their targets – the Chain Home stations at Pevensey, Rye, Dover and Dunkirk. They catch the early warning defences off guard and face only token opposition from the RAF.
Mission 2: raid on convoys Agent and Arena in the Thames Estuary
The Luftwaffe tested the RAF’s ability to respond after the destruction of the Chain Home stations by sending Stukas against two small convoys in the Thames Estuary. 151 and 65 Squadrons were scrambled from Gravesend and Hornchurch respectively but were outnumbered by the escorting 109s.
Mission 3: large raid on Portsmouth
Around midday, the JU88s of KG51 attacked Portsmouth. They approached along the coast as if heading for Portland but at the last minute turned right just before the Isle of Wight and headed for Portsmouth. Two staffel break off to attack the radar station at Ventnor. The RAF sends 4 squadrons to intercept. High above, the 110s of ZG2 and 109s of JG53 are ready to pounce.
Mission 4: low level raid on Manston
Erpr.Gr.210 are in action again with their 110s and 109s launching a low level bombing raid on Manston. 65 Squadron (Spitfires) are caught napping. Help is on its way from 54 Squadron but the fighter-bombers are only seconds away.
