Blenheim's not just a bomber

Just had to boast a little here:

Comming back from a shipping bomb run, I happened upon a lone JU-88 making a run on our ships near Dover. As I had plenty of speed I locked on his "arse" as he pulled up after releasing his bombs. He slowed in the climb, I didnt and the result is one JU-88 kill in the Blenheim. Its a pig I know but its the only Pig we have. I love this aircraft.

Actually also need to give credit to ATAG_Puppet. At the same time he was leaving Littlestone in a loaded Blenheim, caught a 110 (I think) low over the base and proceeded to eliminated very large chucks of aluminum off the airframe. Unfortunately the 110 is a little more "stout" than the JU-88 and continued flying. Out of ammo puppet proceeded to fly over the top of the 110 and drop his bombs, unfortunately no pic of that, but I was there, now thats persistence.

That's wonderful. I remember Watchman and I chasing a 110 with the blem - I being the gunner. Watchman ran out of ammo in the front guns so he proceded to pull along side the 110 were I then started peppering the 110 we were flying in formation with. LOL

Needless to say the 110 driver probably spit all over his monitor when he saw that. :Grin:

No convergence as this is just a single gun. Now I am not very good a gunnery although I do understand deflection and where to hit. That photo was snapped right before I pulled a little back pressure and took out the engine. Right Place/Right Time, continued with some cockpit/wing root shots. Again not skill just luck

Ahaha, great stuff, indeed Knuckles, I posted the same story on our sqn's forum from the other side, I was that Ju-88 flying and gunning you at the same time:dthumb: ! But, unfortunately my story ends with hitting the water, because accidently using the arrow keys - I tried to turn the bally turret when you where overtaking me, yes I am still pretty a noob - and of course, getting a kill msg on a Blenheim flown by Knuckles :Grin: (or did I get something wrong here?)

It was an awesome fight, good fun and my first "15min" in ClOD ever, lol (was also my first flight in Ju-88 ever, finally managed to take off and actually bomb) - I enjoy your server and its atmosphere very much guys! Thank you.

A pitty I hit the water, because I think the fight would have still continued a bit... Of course not trying to narrow your good kill, here, just adding my 2 cents from the 88's rear view :-)

actually I had no idea it was you as I never saw the "Kill" on the screen. only on the stats. Thanks for letting me know it was you, and as you said, this server is an absolute Hoot !!! Even yesterday after chasing a 110 (see I'm still a little cocked up) and like you losing control and dumping the Blenheim, my opponent came over to my TS channel to talk about the fight: now thats good stuff !!!

anyway I have seen you on the server so we will certainly talk ! If you ever want to defect to the red side let me know, I'll hook you up with the Belnheim

Yes, sharing fight impressions is great! Thanks for the invite, actually red's a very good colour :-)) I still need to learn the Blenheim, so far I had a sneak into german bombers. But the Blenheim is great and the best looking bomber in game :thumbsup: I'd like to get more proficient using Lotfe as well or how it is called in the Blen and any tips and hints will be highly appreciated. Also happy to provide escort, etc. Damn, I just wanna fly them all! :Grin:

Anyway Knuckles me ole mate, you have a rival!!

Was online with a bloke called 'Marz' tonight, and he took down a 110 over France with his one .303 whilst flying a Blenheim. He was protecting me on the bomb run and as a direct result Red won again!
Top bomber pilot too, so if you see him online, give him my regards, and rope him in to this tawdry Blenheim flying outfit we appear to have created! :dthumb:

Reminds me of when I was flying a Stuka in a spanish civil war campaign in fb. I was chasing a TB3 and his gunners were giving me a hard time so I sat under him for a while and let the rear gunner do the work...

Ha! You got me, I haven't got one really, but did own one for a short while in the early '80s, when I only had a motorcycle licence. I think it's still the case over here that you can drive one on a bike licence. Not that you'd want to! :laugh1
