Operation Bodenplatte P51 fun

Have been having a lil break from CloD and flying the "Stang". Made myself an "Operation Bodenplatte" map and have been having a ball in my "Blue nosed bastard of Bodney" P51 chasing and avoiding FW190Ds. If u see an "Operation Bodenplatte" server then jump in and say hi. Plenty to do in there. Hosted from Australia but connection is pretty stable.
Great flying a plane at 350mph on the deck and close to 500mph in a dive. The AI is no pushover either.
CloD is still my 1st love but the P51 in DCS is a great fly.

Nice Torian. I have been getting some 'stang time lately also. Finally have managed to give the 190's a run for their money! The new p-51 trainer is nice. Have also been doing sling loads with the huey, man is that tough! I could use some wingman time on the '51, haven't tried holding a formation with that one yet. If I see your server up I'll hop on! (if I can use TS!:D) Thx for the invite :salute:

Cool guys. It's a bit ad-hoc as to when I am on and Aussie time zones are not optimal for u lot across the pond. Nonetheless do drop in if u see it hosted. Dogs Of War host a P51 server but sometimes there isn't much going on. I like instant and continuous gratification and the attack on Asch airbase (Y29) on January 1 1945 was all that. Will be even better when we have P47s and 109s.

So what happens when you fly only P51s? Do you get missions to do ground attack, escort and other such tasks? How does multiplayer work out, considering that there's no PvP as you can only fly Mustangs?

Both sides have P-51s available. One side has US skins, the other has a German skin.

Missions vary from map to map. One mission has PvP dogfights with FW 190 and P-51 AIs thrown into the mix (and they are actually good). There are also ground targets. Sometimes the server has this mission where you need to destroy a battleship and a convoy... it's mostly like a coop mission with FW 190 AIs trying to intercept you (and you WILL get bounced). Ground attacks are very interesting in the P-51D.

I might have to finally take the leap into the online world. Thanks for hosting this server. Things will really pick up when we get the Dora. :)
