How do you know what the height of the airfield is so that you can set your altimeter ?

Try this
http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/utils/lotfe7.htm
It allows you to pick your take-off and target airfields and tells you the altitudes as well as what should be put in the bombsight.

Link appears to be broken
The "htm" extension has changed to "html", so the link is now: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/utils/lotfe7.html
Another great source is the great edition of all "Air Force Bases of CloD" made by V0101_Tom: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=35074

Many thanks for the links the second one is superb.
Heinz
the second one is superb.
Definitely.
I have them printed on 280g paper (cardboard really) and sprial bound:
England:
9507 9508
France:
9509 9510
Additionally I've had the map from Tom printed on 90cm by 102cm Tyvek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyvek) (a paperlike but untearable material) and cut/folded it in the Falk-Method (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falk_(Verlag)):
9511 9512
Sorry, offtopic, slightly :- )

You should make loads like that and sell them very useful you'de make a few pounds im sure.
Heinz
Used to sell Tyvek when I worked for Wiggins Teape. Brilliant stuff, quite expensive though.
As you kind of agree to take this thread offtopic ;- ) ...
For one it's really the work of VO101_Tom (http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/member.php?u=226), secondly, even if it were mine, I'd not make money from the community, and thirdly and lastly every decent copyshop around the corner will do that for a smile and € 100: I paid € 75 for the booklets (paper, printing, cutting, binding) and € 28 for the map (Tyvek, 90x102cm, printing, cutting). The special Falk folding I did myself - admittedly kind of complicated (but I'll gladly help you if you want to do it, too):

Mhm, yes... I realized that, too - but only when it was too late.
