Greetings to all!
As I understand it, on the aircraft Bf.110C-4 NJG (Nachtjäger) in the TF 4.312 is worth a night sight Revi C/12CN (Fl.22103 – upgraded Revi C/12C by replacing conventional lamp to red):

9716 9717

If this is true, then why the body of Revi C/12CN has no black color?

Since, according to his photographs, he was painted black:

9718 9719 9720 9721 9722

You can convert the Revi to a Nightsight through an attachable red-filter (FL52119 for Revi C/12D)

In the book "Die deutsche Luftwaffe - Zerstörer- und Nachtjagdverbände Teil 1" is a picture of a Bf 110 D from the II./NJG 1 (autumn 1940, page 47),
which shows an all black Bf 110 fuselage and a grey Revi. The black metall stripe of the sunglass mechanism is clearly visible.
The SP 1A plate (FL52194 or FL52195) for the adjustable bomb angle is not fitted, which indicates that a Revi C/12C is attached.
I will upload it at the weekend as reference.

The II./NJG 1 got used Bf 110 D from the I./ZG 76. Also the I./NJG 1 got used 110 from ZG 1.

It's more likely that they were fitted later with the Revi C/12D and SP 1A, since all 110 were ordered to be upgraded to the fighter/bomber versions at the repair yards.
C-2/C-4 to C-7; D-0 to D-0/B

Hi, Kodoss!

You can convert the Revi to a Nightsight through an attachable red-filter (FL52119 for Revi C/12D)

This feature – set a red-filter (Fl.52119), was added to sights Revi C/12D (Fl.52095).
In Revi C/12C (Fl.52160) color of the reticle-sight changed only by replacing the lamp (red-lamp installed). In the nomenclature of its parts do not have the red-filter (Rotscheiben-Linse).

At the same time, black painted versions of these sights (Revi C/12C & Revi C/12D) for night-fighters – were named Revi C/12CN (Fl.22103) and Revi C/12N (Fl.52394), respectively. This option (black body sight) ensures the best ergonomic effect at night lighting in the cockpit.
Right?

But, because the aircrafts arrived in I. & II./NJG1 from groups of heavy day-fighters, probably that night sights were not on them (black Revi C/12CN), and the problem was solved by simply replacing the lamps in those sights that they had at the time of arrival (Revi C/12C), as seen in the pictures provided to You.

Well, now understand the reasons why the sight on the Bf.110C-4 NJG in TF 4.312 does not have black.

Thanks for the answer!
