Quite a good read. One thing tho, The Emil didn't have a cannon coming thru the
spinner did it ? I thought the Emils had 2 x 20mm wing mounted cannons.
If so what then is that Emil doing with one ?

"Noise and stink were not the only things to come out of the Daimler-Benz DB601
engine - it also spewed a thumping heavy stream of 20 mm cannon rounds. The
single high-performance cannon (or 'shell-gun', as sometimes referred in the 1930s)
fired through the cylinder banks via a blast tube, with the engine buffering the
recoil."

This plane has 2 barrels protruding from each wing...not sure if they are machine
guns (E1) or cannons (E3 onward). Maybe he thinks it is a cannon and is getting
confused with later 109s ?

I believe that mid to late model "Emils" (E3 or E4 onward) were built with a hollow channel through the engine and spinner with the intention of adding a cannon. I don't believe a center line cannon ever made it to a production model though, as they had complications trying to implement it.

The center cannon had 200 rounds. A big improvement over the 60 in each wing now.
