View Full Version : Team Fusion Update June 13th 2014 - Honestly, yes, you did see that :)

Hi everyone, this is just a short update but a pretty cool one :D

Sadly I really can't say too much about it or it will take the edge off the video, which although brief, should excite quite a few of you (hopefully!)

So please sit back, watch the video and then come back and discuss :)

In other news, further revisions are taking place on the effects which have had some in Team Fusion saying; "I love them all!", and "Beautiful!", and "SPECTACULAR!!!" to quote just a few!

The work underway will make the various smoke effects look much more dynamic and realistic. The next update posted will show a variety of these, which I'm sorry to say wont be for maybe another 2-4 weeks but I just want to make sure you have something to discuss rather than a "oh...was that it" update :salute:

Video here...like I said...it's brief but should bring a smile in the end :)

Cheers, MP/TF

Yes, the poster is correct, we have been able to fly the aircraft since we first started the mod team in late 2012... this video was from a mod done by LizLemon... who is a member of our team, done before he joined us. However, what this video shows as an interior are textures and 3d models simply to provide an acceptable external view model, as seen by someone some distance away... these textures were not intended to be viewed from close up. These low res textures resemble more a Flight Sim from the late 1990's, with missing elements, non functional gauges, damage textures which are a joke, etc. etc. this is not the representation of an aircraft appropriate to a state of the art sim like CLIFFS OF DOVER.

We will not release the aircraft in this condition, we want a Wellington which is up to the standards of the rest of the game.

Not to mention, the flight model of the vanilla Wellington is completely inaccurate, it requires a lot of revision and improvements, with additional historical features added.

All of this requires an enormous amount of work.

Suggestions by the person who voiced the video that achieving a flyable Wellington which would fit in the game is a simple process... far from the case.

Nice link.

Of course, that startup is for the Wellington III and later types... which were equipped with Bristol Hercules engines.

We will be implementing the existing Wellington, which was equipped with Bristol Pegasus engines...

By the way, the current Wellington isn't correctly identified, it's labeled in the vanilla game as a IC, but in fact it is a IA, because it lacks the waist gunners the IC had, and it also lacks the 100 octane performance of the IC.

So we are looking to create a flyable version the existing Wellington IA for BoB era maps, plus a IC version for our TF 5.0 expansion. :salute:

Hey mate,

I was like 16 when I made that video, so go easy ;)

I do realise that making cockpit's is no easy feat, especially in CloD,

However, I made this video with the sole intention of getting the original game devs (who had the resources) to get a move on, (I never understood why you could fly the BR-20 and not this)

Thank you, Team Fusion for making my dream come true, even if it is a couple years overdue :P

Cheers!

BTW, will the gunner and bomb aimer stations also be modelled? - I guess the Defiant gun turret should be of help, but what do I know...

The wellington , like the Defiant got gun turrets , there are no need for making a franken plane the 3 D is all there. The Defiant like the Wellington does not got the cockpit for any stations.
It took over a year to make a up to standard pit for all stations in the SB 2 bomber in IL 2 witch was goos enough for TD to implement it in a patch. It was not their mod btw.
So this is not going to be a quick one if started in June.
