New to Cliffs or Dover

Hello everyone! I just bought Cliffs of Dover this afternoon and already found a great community that i hope to join and be an active member of. I'm not new to flight sims, I'm a huge fan of the DCS Series and I've played the original IL-2 Series for years. Looking forward to flying with you all over the channel! Oh and thanks to ATAG_snapper for showing me the ropes, without your help i would probably be still sitting in that blenheim in the airfield...:laugh1

Actually, I'm amazed at how fast the Blenheims are. Wolverine and I were doing low level escort for Lead Farmer, heading for he Ju88 targets near Dunkirk. He had that thing going flat out at what I figure was about 240 mph over the waves. When scanning the skies for contacts inevitably you draw away from your escort, and it took some doing, even at full boost, to catch up again! Like.......an Express Bus!!!! :happy

There is nothing quite like skimming the wavetops at cherubs one, 'under the radar' and pulling 240mph at +4 boost, keeping your compass on the correct heading to target, then 'Enemy Coast Ahead!', climbing slightly to clear the hills on the French coast, then hugging the deck again to avoid the flak.

'Target in sight, Bomb Doors Open!' - Then there's a fighter on your six and you're bucking and weaving and sideslipping whilst still keeping inline with the target, you get there and 'Two Bombs Gone!', pulling around for a second pass and you see your team mate on his bomb run. You line up for the second run and see that he's coming in the opposite direction for his second run!

You both let go your bombs and manage to avoid colliding, then;

'The Fuel Depot in M2 has Been Destroyed'

Combat Flight Sim Heaven. Especially with the theme tune from '633 Squadron' in the background!:Grin:

I've not yet seen how much speed we can get with emergency boost up to +9. :laugh1

Pfft, forget the Blenheim; the HE 111 is where it's at. :thumbsup:

Forget everything they taught you and come fly the Blue bombers; the blenny gets 4 bombs, the 111 gets 32. ;)
