I'm new to CLoD, but not flight sims. That being said, I'm having issues with navigation and intercept while in game.

Scenario: A buddy and I hopped in the ATAG Server 2 today for some familiarization, and after a few botched take offs, we were headed out over the channel when the (I'm assuming Radar Operator) called out a flight of two possible Ju-88's at Angels 10.5 at heading 210, sector J21.

Got it. Two bombers at 10,500 ft, headed towards England, contact made in sector J21.

So my buddy and I climb to about 11.5k for some separation, but are totally clueless as to what heading to take in order to intercept.

How do we find out where WE are and which way to go in order to intercept these Jerries?

Welcome to the community and forums AngryEchoSix....~S~

Sorry I cant answer your question....I actually only turned that contact info window on last week so its new to me too...

Flying with a wingman is the wayto go in CLOD...But take a word of advice...Dont fly in tandem or close....Fly at each others 9 and 3 o'clock...and with some seperation....Then watch each others aircraft....Each of you is responsible for the other and you can see when they get bounced giving them a lot more time to take evasive action.....Took me and my wingman 18 months to figure this out.....so Im givin you pearls..

Anways....

Checkout the 'Beginners Guide'...for info and tips...It will save you a heap of time in getting up to scratch.....and its a really fun learning curve anyway..

Beginners Guide Link Here (http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5058&p=52711)

Also try youtube for startup procedures on all the aircraft...

Any questions then you've come to the right place....

Good to have you with us buddy...and remember its all about the Fun!!!

Right, you have to find your current position on the in-game map on your own - on ATAG there are no symbols activated. Difficult in the beginning but you quickly will know all the important landmarks!

For the beginning (especially if you are on TS and listen to the chatter of others) I can recommend you to have a look at JG4_DUI's extremely helpful (:D) "CLOD Landmark Map" which you can download on this nice website (http://clodtools.weebly.com/maps.html).

Welcome to the Cliffs community and Hals- & Beinbruch!
