First of all i would like to say i tried , checked everything i found on official forums, none worked. I am either missing something very simple or the answer is not within my capabilities. The issue is i am not able to install v3.0, i realized that when i launched the game and nothing changed then continued to v3.1 setup, it gave me an error and said v3.0 is not installed on my laptop, but v3.0 installer finished installing with success! There are no mod files under documents.

What i tried so far :

*Running everything, steam, installers as administrator.
*Downloading 3.0 and 3.1 again from different sources.
*Restarting my laptop.
*Installing while steam closed.
*Un-packing with winrar, winzip and 7z.
*Re-installing .net fw.
*Closing steam cloud synch and removing "read only option" from all steam library and my documents.
*Watching the video again in beginner's guide and going step by step.
*Copy-pasting the path of the CloD folder manually to installer destination.
**Closing the anti-virus before the install. (AVG Free)
**Made another copy of my game under C: , installed mod there, game working but its still vanilla, no mod folder under documents.

Things that may have importance :

*Its a high-end laptop, but installer worked like 10ms then said it is successfully installed, a bit too fast to be normal.
*I use win7 x64.
*I have the steam version of CloD that works without any problem, all files verified.
*Steam on my F:/ drive.
*No changes to vanilla game after installer falsely reports success, still playable.
*Installer creates no folder under documents or under il-2 CloD.

Any help is appreciated, its a highly praised mod that i would definitely like to try!

Edit:**

Is more likely a matter of folder permissions.
I can imagine that you installed steam as administrator. If that is the case, the folders will be read only for non administrator users.

Try running the installer as administrator.

try this:
1.- Copy the clod install folder somewhere else.
2.- Install the mod on the new copy.
3.- you can play the game from there or copy it back if you like.

Made another copy of my il2 CloD in C, chose that destination for mod installer, still no joy. Adding this to top.

Strange...
Wonder if there could be an antivirus messing with it

**Closing the anti-virus before the install.

Nope, i use AVG for the record.

edit : its like installer doing nothing, after i hit install button it instanly flashes another window (possibly the install track with the green bar) and gives a success message.

Sadly, 3.0 installer did not have some error checking that was added on the latter versions. Mainly, the errors is not catching are related to not able to write to the folder (create new files and folders) or rename existing files.
I'm 99.9% sure the issue lies there somewhere.

If you have some IT knowledge, you could try using the sysinternals (Microsoft) utility called "procmon" to sniff what the installer is trying (and failing) to do on the files and get a definite answer on what the problem is.

I used the program you mentioned and i didn't get nearly anything =) there are buffer overflows, not found paths some read onlies. Though i have the filtered log for Mod installer.exe, i am not sure if there are any sensitive information in it. Not sure if anyone can understand this to share it anyways =)

If you can save the log, zip it and attached here, I could take a look at it.
There is nothing sensitive on it, only the paths.

Edit: if you prefer, put a password on the zip file and PM it to me.

Even though you have AVG, it could still be an issue with the anti-virus?

Maybe you could add an exception to the AVG vault and point it to the installer and also the CloD folder?

Sadly I am sure I had the exact same issue and fixed it....but can't remember how as it was months ago....I'll keep thinking though :(

Adding exceptions for them didn't worked, after that i tried it closing AVG all together =))
Thanks for the suggestion anyways! I believe im missing something very simple, since no thread mentions having this issue.
