In this edition of Heiden's flight school I demonstrate the use of the Bf-109's landing gear emergency extension air bottle.

Glad you found it useful! Why belly-in at the field if you can get your gear down in time? I know it has limited bearing on the game, but for realism and your pride it does quite a bit.

Very good Video. Like all of your video's.

No offense intended, but, I am not sure it is entirely accurate as far as flying in a damaged 109 goes. I have many times deployed the emergency gear system when very badly damaged with a completely blown engine and the gear rarely deploys. Maybe I am always to slow ? maybe my plane is to heavily damaged ? I lower gear, the indicator lights go from red to nothing (gear is in down position, not neutral) usually I drop it/ pull the emergency gear handle about 45-60 seconds before touch down at around 220-230KMH.

I would love to see a remake of this video where before you start, or at the start of the video you overheat and completely blow your engine on purpose. Then set the prop so your gliding with the prop slowly windmilling and go make your emergency landing, deploy the bottle, get gear to drop, and set that baby down.

I'll be happy to do that for you RC. I'll see about doing it later today and I'll post the results here. I know for a fact this works on damaged engines because the only time I use it is typically when dead-sticking it in due to a burst radiator.
