Hi again!

Here is Spitfire 1a AH-Z of 234 Squadron, based at Middle wallop 1940.
(This aircraft was downed, captured, and repainted by German forces... which may be a later skinning project. This is just the RAF skin).

The skin is made to look good with the TF4 patch, (with plane-shine), which tends to make the skins look very dark. So this is a much lightened skin.

Thanks!

Regarding the photo - it almost looks like the developers used that photo when making the damage model.

BTW -Note the interesting colours of the Spitfire. The brown camo colour looks quite light in the photo.

Does Anyone know how we can get hold of Major Setback's (and Keefys) beautiful work now MFT has disappeared?

This skin especially interests me if anyone has it in their files and would be willing to share

Very nice skin.

I don't have the book right now, but I think that this is the same ac that was convinced to land by JG 53 pilots. The damage behind the cockpit was caused by airfield ground defense when coming in to land. The pilot, shaken a bit, got out with his hands-up -- maybe thinking the worst -- and was then invited to the mess for a glass of champagne.

Just let me know which of my skins you want and I'll send them to you, via PM. That goes for everyone.
Please though look in the download section of this forum before doing that, as they might be there. Link: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/Downloads.php?categoryid=12

Please read my last post above.

I think I also uploaded an improved (darker) version of this skin. It will save me time to just re-upload it here rather than search the forum for it.
Here it is it is in both light and darker versions.

By way of giving something back here is a blank version of MAJOR SETBACKS improved darkened skin complete with machine parts, panel lines and 3D elements that i cobbled together using re-shaded bits of his original blank skin and other elements ive ripped from various uncredited skins ive pulled from my cache (which i think may well have originally also been the work of the Major and Keefyboy).

Here you can find a few more skins, though some were made for an older version of the game and the colours look a bit too dark in the present modded version of CoD.

Hi

The difference in the lightened and in game skins is vast however many of those i did a version of skin for have (subtly- i have a temper and feelings :-) ) mentioned the greens were too washed out and almost stone in colour. This is probably more to with my treatment of them in gimp though as well as the variances of monitors and settings.

Then theres always the "its a bit dirty isnt it?" brigade......

Anyhow, long stories short, ive found the easiest way to get exactly what i (they) want is simply to mix the opacity of several similar skins before adding other effects. In the case of the RAF stuff this was mixing a weathered version with a clean version and finally overlaying the lot with the old, dark game skin and really bringing the opacity of it down. early days of playing with absolutely no clue but this method also seems to return he tone of pre TF4 skins after an arbitrary lightening treatment. An added bonus for a talentless hacker like myself is the lessened risk of destroying the layers since everything is kept apart.

Suffice to say, none of my hacking could be done without the crafted skins layers being made freely available in the first place. So again thank you Setback and Keith!.

Best Wishes BOO
