I have a big problem with this, the installer contain IL2 complete game and will in worst case scenario hit Histomod and all sites advertising it with severe lawsuits . I have received promises they will change this, but still. They have taken all the modded stuff from other modders and put it in a pack, some are not even credited, they have encrypted all files for not letting others getting to the files, still they use these modders work, and not only that, they openly state and promote TD to encrypt further developments so it will not be possible to mod . They do this since they use 4.09 version and will not be touched by such acts, everyone has to judge by themselves, but without mods IL 2 has not been alive , and I think the way they act are pretty selfish I have never had a problem with histomod before, but Lebig and Freddy has gone too far this time

Well I have some great news, we have been discussing the problem about copyright and Lebig has said they will remove the posibilitiest to DL IL2 for free, and just add the pack for it. They also told us if we manage to crack the crypting in SFS files we was free to share Freddy´s excellent work. So our Storebror did just that

I cant get this work.

il-2 1946 4.09m (damed "flavor"war) installed and tested OK.

Unpack the 5 .exe files of IES1 download and join then in a big 12+ GB file.

Copy this file over 4.09m - after erase some files in this folder as French Readme - overwrite.

Make a shortcut to IES1.exe adding the '7' on path.

But the game dont open...

The 3D requirements for CLIFFS OF DOVER are quite different from IL-2 1946. Not to mention the damage systems, etc.

This model would need quite a bit of additional work to be ready for CoD.

But certainly, if the creator was interested in joining Team Fusion and working with us, we'd be happy to have him join. :salute:

Freddy does not join anything, TF have to join him if that is going to happened. Decide I tried to soften up modders to join the cause of improving cod, they simply will not .

I respect anyone who does a modelling work for free. But i will take this opportunity to "vent off" some of my grieves with old 1946. Due to the puzzling amount of mods, some who were excellent, some were doubtfull, the packs came in to ease up the average joe work of putting alltogheter. But even so, no matter what admins of servers tryed to do, some guys would have diffrent files for their planes and that is a behaviour i do not wish to see happening in Cliffs.

Team Fusion does not only provides a "MOD". It provides the assurance that evryone is flying in the same planes, in the same environment, with the same dammage model. This is why its so important to have work under a structure as TF. Its very satisfying flying with TF for - what 2 years now? - and theres a feeling of confidence. If the other guy shot you down thats because he had a chance. There wasnt any magic bullet on his end. Other example of why its important to work under a structure as TF is to avoid effort duplicity of work. We are still a growing community and the guys who are savy enough to provide the service to the community are not that abbundant. We need them to maximize their efforts. After all its all about "keeping the dream alive" and not about egos.

I understand quite well what you mean, but the pirates code within the modding community of IL 2 ,no monopoly are respected and everything should be shared, this is why recruiting from there is difficult

Has TF ever tried reaching out to the guys who have been MOD'ing IL2-1946 for years ? I would think there must be a ton of talent there. As you have said many times, the more guys in TF the merrier.

You could make a post on the fabulous http://www.mission4today.com forums to try to find some of these guys.

This has been such an amazing resource for IL-46 for so many years. Game MODS, aircraft MODS, technical help, 3rd party scripted campaigns, Dynamic Campaign Generator, skins, pictures, random talk about WW2 aircraft, you name it.

The ATAG forums/ community remind very much of the mission4today community.

I think they encrypted things for the right reasons. To make sure the base game was always the same. Giving all the groups from the Modding community an stable platform to work from. Its hard, really hard to say anything bad about TD.

Lately I have been playing more 46 than Cliffs, mainly because flying the same map day in day out & flying the same aircraft has become a bore.

You must agree Lusekofte, there has to be some talent over in the 46 community looking for new challenges, and, cliffs may just be what they are looking for. Many have probably never heard of TF, or, have heard that it is a very exclusive club. When actually they are always looking for people to join the team.

I mean, come on ! these are the experts, the people that have kept the same game going for 12 years and are still working on things today and making them better. . . .

Rightly or wrongly they may not want to be tied to ATAG, as the two appear inextricably linked. I'm not saying that this is absolutely so but it does seem it. I'm also not saying it's a bad thing.

I sometimes wonder what would happen if TF had a separate website and if that would be a better way for the modding community to pool resources.

I know what happend. I know also whos mod and code they took in their own name. I know why they encrypted it.
They did very good work with the 412 , the ai is the best ever made compared to any game. You have problems coping with average setting. The manouvers they do can no longer be known. Do not get me wrong.
