Actually, even only one flyable french plane would give CoD "Battle for France" scenarios not yet realized, even on the map as it is. If it could be made one day in the future that would be pretty awesome (always thought a Battle for France or Battle for Poland has a lot of yet to be realized potential in "any" flight sim).

WWII online has the 520 and the Hawk 75 (not french design I know), along with french tanks and other equipment. Now, that's not to say the FM is close to realistic but it was pretty fun at the time I played it. You really had to be on your game to deal with 09s

Best thing this would have going for it is that it could be used for both sides, battle of france scenario's, later by Germany or Italy, depending on where TF takes us with their next update :) I'm still surprised that none flew for either side during BoB, ok nearly all of the ones for the allies went down south. But, where were the captured ones, still in the paintshop maybe? Plus in my opinion at least, it's a good looking plane.

The Dewoitine 520 initially saw combat in the Battle of France, and then after that in combat for Vichy France versus Britain and the US in Syria, Morocco and Algeria when those French possessions were invaded. It did not see combat during the BoB.

It was not the most successful French Fighter of the Battle of France, the American built Hawk 75 shot down more aircraft per sortie and equipped more Escadrilles.

If we did a French aircraft, (for which we do not have the manpower and for which there are no plans right now) it would likely be a Hawk.

^ I was literally about to say as I was scrolling down that a Hawk 75 would be fantastic if we're going to do French aircraft. Out-turns and out-dives 109s like a champ. Lovely aircraft. The RAF came close to using them instead of the Spitifre during the '30s in fact.

Don't forget the first hand documents, manuals, performance test reports. Without them the 3D work is pointless.

In 1944, the D.520 taken to the occupying forces equipped the 1st FFI Fighter Group, uleaded by Marcel Doret, to carry out missions in the area of Bordeaux and Royan. 775 units were manufactured.

I'm French and the D.520 is the plane that I would not really like to see in this game at least it shouldn't be a priority.

Honestly the Hawk would be great but if one day someone starts working for a battle of France project the top priority in my opinion should be the M.S. 406 which was the main French fighter aircraft in 1940 since all the other fighter aircrafts (D.520, Bloch) were used in very small quantities and are certainly not representative of the conflict or the French airforce.

Dream on...I'm just looking forward for 5.0 here and I have no hope for a French campaign since few will be interested imo and it will be hard to find motivated people to work on such a project and I'm sure most of the Team fusion mod players are probably looking forward for Malta and eventually North Africa like I am because this will happen.
