Hi everyone,
I'm seeking a small number of testers to take a look at what i have done thus far re my mission that I'm hoping will get on ATAG sometime in the not too distant future. I don't yet have a title (working title is Sea Lion +30) and the strategic concept is here - http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12906.
I've now created a .mis file that has the following:
(a) All air bases created with spawn points (not yet fully tested though), Flak/AAA etc and aircraft assigned.
(b) All static tgt sets determined and static tgts created; these tgt sets include bomber airfields, airfields in enemy territory (Gatwick and Canterbury) bridges, railyards and docks (for Red only)
(c) Flak/AAA protection for these tgts
(d) Local weather created in likely focus points
(e) A concept for resupply missions to the bases in enemy territory that will add to the victory objectives - providing i can script it.
I've also - with Salmo's help - used his script that does random weather and time of day
I haven't started work on the random tgt sets yet (tank parks, ship convoys) and i have to learn C# scripting to figure that out. Start that tomorrow/this week - yeah yeah i was supposed to do that today but....
So what I'm seeking is several (maybe half a dozen) people who have some or all of the following skill sets and who are wiling to help me out:
(a) Are regular bomber and fighter pilots who enjoy flying high and low level bombing and potentially recce sorties and the usual range of fighter activities (furball thru to bomber escort/interception and even unarmed recce all accommodated in the mission design) - red and blue
(b) Have some knowledge of COD FMB and how it works - the .mis file is not finished or polished yet and to review it will require it to be used from within the FMB
(c) Are interested in mission design, including if possible some understanding of what is / isnt possible via use of scripts
(d) Have developed COD multi-player missions for ATAG or elsewhere
(e) Have some spare time and are willing to assist in the development of an ATAG non-historical (but historically representative sorta - ie Sealion +30 days) mission.
I've developed 2 x pdfs that go into more detail re the mission and the types of testing/feedback I'm interested in getting which i will send out to interested reviewers/testers along with the .mis and .cs files via PM/email.
I'm about to start working my way thru my C# for dummies book so that will take me away from the FMB for a week or 3 perhaps. Hence i thought i could use this FMB-down time to send out my .mis file and get it reviewed by interested people while I'm doing the C# thing. So I'm not looking for a quick turnaround re comments - maybe end of October but its flexible.
And given its my first COD mission I'm expecting i might be in for some major rework depending on the feedback i get - but i will learn from that if it happens and that is a good thing. For instance I've deliberately started big re the size of the mission and the available tgt sets knowing that this might be too big for an ATAG mission. But i figured it was OK to do this as I can always split it up into maybe 2 smaller missions down track if it does turn out to be too big.
Thanks in advance.
Ezzie
PS As a teaser - it will be possible (hopefully) for the Tiger Moth (RED) and Tiger Moth/Ju-87 (still to decide re which aircraft on BLUE will do this) to play a major role in helping roll the map in some scenarios.........
