View Full Version : Patch 4.3

Hi All

Just bought the lovingly named ClOD, and have begun the process of downloading 7zip and the various patches. Just three questions, if that's all good?

Regarding the downloading of mods 3.0 to 4.0, am I ok in downloading them all in one go? It's one large 3.1 GB file, and I'll follow the instructions in the vid (in the beginners guide) from there. I attempted to download them separately, but 3.0 wasn't working when I tried, so I went for the bulk download instead. Anybody encounter any issues when doing this?

Also... where can I find a download link to patch 4.3? Can't seem to, unless I'm being particularly stupid..?

Finally, I'm running windows 8.1 and can't get the game to launch (vanilla) from Steam or as an admin from my SteamApps folder. I understand there is a fix, but I'm not smart enough to locate it and apply it correctly. Just getting the game to launch vanilla would put me at ease quite a bit!

Thank you, and I hope someone can point this newbie in the right direction.

For 8,1 windows check this thread: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7720

if i was installing from scratch i would go for the single file download. Easyer to deal with. I forgot wich version it has, but once you fire up the game, on the main screen, there will be a indication on the bottom right corner with the version installed it has.

Hi

Thanks for your reply, have got it running on 8.1 after using the fixes and am in the process of installing the patches. One more question though?

I downloaded the patches 3-4.31 in one file (3.1GB), but patch 4.0 comes as a .rar file which I can't open or use. I'm not quite sure what to do as in the tutorial video the host has his 4.0 installer as a normal compressed file with the installer inside it. Any ideas?

Small edit: Posted my reply to Loslav and (in the time it took me to do so) you (Lewis) had also replied, which I didn't see till' I posted. Am checking the boards now just in case, but d'you know anything about the .rar file for patch 4.0?

From top of my head: Use 7Zip program to extract first to the folder and then make sure you have both files in the same folder before starting instalation (one of the files installs and the other has the remaining archives, so they both need to be on the same folder).

Hi

I have not a clue how to use 7zip. I have the 4.0 as part of the larger 'all in one' download I did. I also tried to download 4.0 as two separate files, one is .exe and the other is .rar, but chrome blocked the .exe (saying it was malware, which I downloaded from here: http://www.adrive.com/public/VM8XQe/Mod). Any ideas?

So I'm a little stuck. I'm just not sure why the 4.0 I have in my all in one download is different from the one in the tutorial vid... If it's as simple as using 7zip to use the .rar for 4.0 then it's all good, and if someone could point me in the right direction with how to use it then great!

Massively appreciate the help though so far!

Yes. It says that because the file it self is coming as a EXE, so, by default, they assume evrything with EXE is a virus, which, in this case, couldnt be more far from truth.

So I'm a little stuck.

Dont be :)

Since you got the EXE file then you dont need to extract, since its alredy on his "Extracted" form. All you need is to run the EXE file and the installer will pop up.

Yup, all good. WinRAR opens by default (I'm ok with that) and automatically seeks to extract to my Team Fusion folder. Is that ok and then run the installer from there, or do I manually select my CLOD folder from my Steam directory?

If you installed in the default location, ie, C:/program files/Steam/blablabla the installer should be pointing into the right direction :)

The option to change the path is there in case you made a copy on another folder (you can do that and run it from there instead).
