Most of you will be aware of the discovery of an intact wreck of a Do17 a couple of years ago at Goodwin Sands.

The plan is that the RAF Museum will attempt to raise the wreck for restoration sometime this spring, so it's worth keeping your eyes open!

Here's the link to a video of a dive to the wreck;

interesting: thanks for that.

Being a British aircraft fanatic I haven't had the opportunity to see that many flyable British, or German for that fact.

Theres two spits over here and I was able to witness a Hurricane fly right after it was restored and is now back over the Pond. Also a HE-111, however it is no longer with us, I know of at least 1 Beaufighter being restored to flying condition. When they get that one up in the air I'm comming over !!!!!

That was a great read, Dutch, plus the video really brings it all together. What a funny feeling reading the combat report -- intercepting the formation of 12 Dorniers at 11,000 feet between Deal and Herne Bay. Sounds like a typical ATAG intercept (although not Defiants, of course :no). Don't know how we would cope with "an escort of 50 109's" though; one or two are problem enough! :shocked:

The restoration crew at Cosford are currently restoring a Wellington, Knucks. Only for static display but there are only two more in existence as far as I'm aware.

One of these is at Hendon;

But the Dornier is exciting as there are none at all in the world.

@Snapper - Yep, isn't it interesting that it was brought down by a Defiant Squadron? Really wish that was flyable. Online with two crew it'd be an absolute blast! :)

Edit: Here's another link for you transatlantic types, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. I see these chaps at least twice a year at various airshows;
