Next-week I will post an update showing some of the 3D work being undertaken by some of our incredibly talented Team Fusion modellers.

Today there wasn't going to be an update....but at the last minute I decided to just offer you a taster of a couple of aircraft we are currently working on FM's for :)

Whether they make it for v5.00......well, time will tell, but until next week....here's a little teaser to keep you going :)

PLEASE READ THE INFO. Don't want any misunderstandings about what you see :)

Cheers, MP

BTW!!!!

Apologies to anyone whosaw the previous post...in all my excitement I typed Swordfish instead of Gladiator!!! Sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you try...you can still make a pigs ear of a situation by having a brain fart :) Anyway, all corrected now, cheers, MP

Thanks, cool to see those planes:-)

(Yes, sorry for the edit...meant Gladiator...not Swordfish...me and my poor addled brain getting excited! ;) )

There's a lot going on behind the curtains. Not everything is shared as it would ruin the surprise and/or showing something that might not happen at the end will be bad :D.

MP had his facts confused... the Swordfish FM is not being tested in these clips. It's the Gladiator FM.

(Buzzsaw is right, apologies chaps :) cheers, MP )

(I think he just got his names confused, both being biplanes ;) )

At the moment there are no plans to release a Swordfish.

We are hoping to release a flyable Gloster Gladiator and Fiat CR42 for TF 5.0. :salute:

Ah, I was beginning to wonder about that. Swordfish for TF 6.0? :)

Anyways, great tiny update. I'm really looking forward to flying some biplanes now. Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy because right now I have no free time with college (I'm taking an insane semester this semester, approximately 21 hours but it's only 18 hours because of some one hour courses that aren't one hour courses). :(

Well spotted....A++ on your report :)

Yes, apologies for putting Swordfish in the initial post...what an idiot!

CR42 and Gladiator in action....not a Swordfish in sight.....unless it's on the end of an angling rod :)

Thanks for the feedback so-far. Most likely we'll be using Youtube for the updates as it seems the most obvious route where people will go to check for the words Team Fusion and Cliffs of Dover first.

Spread the word.....subscribe to the Team Fusion Youtube channel for the latest news first :)

As I said next week it'll be a 3D modelling showcase and some Wellington updates to name but a few :)

Cheers, MP

Oh yes they they are greener than TF4.312 (maybe too green). I mean than the landscape is the same as in the TF update from the 17th of october. But the landscape has been improved a lot since the 17th of october.. But MP does not have that version on his computer yet.. :)

Yes, I guess that why MP asked us to refer to the notes for the youtube video.

Team Fusion FM Testing of CR42 and Gladiator current working progress with possibility of inclusion in TF V5.00 patch. All cockpits shown are borrowed from other aircraft for testing of FM only. which can only be done by installing a cockpit into the aircraft.
please understand TF wont release 'frankenplanes' only historically correct (as much and as close as we can be) so the cockpits you see are just used as the interface for the pilot to test the aircraft. This video is to show testing of the FM

No, FM test only . Early WIP

Thanks TF for sharing your early work!

We have already said this is a test cockpit which was borrowed from an existing plane.

It is not the cockpit which will be released with TF 5.0.

By the way, the cockpit picture you are showing is wrong... that is for a Swedish or Finnish Gladiator, the British version was different. :salute:

I didn't think I'd ever say that... but that Gladiator cockpit looks interesting... I might even try it! We should create a new "Marmaduke" award for shooting down a 109 in a Gladiator!

I also hope we get torpedoes with the Gladiator so it becomes actually relevant to the mission objectives.

We are hoping to have a interesting and engaging new theater for CoD enthusiasts... can't say more.

Regarding the Gladiator at Malta... of course, the famous 'Faith, Hope and Charity' myth keeps people interested... but there were quite a few more Gladiators than just three... Numbers vary between 7 and 12 by my current info, but no more than three would be in the air at any one time, that's where the myth about there only being three comes from.

Interesting note: The Gladiator II and Sea Gladiator, (Glads on Malta were Naval types, although the deck hook and other elements were removed) were fixed pitch aircraft, that is, the pitch of the propellor could not be changed in the factory models.

However, due to the fact their Mercury VIIIA engines wore out on Malta, and there were no spares, there were instances of Blenheim Mercury VIII or XV engines with their two pitch props being installed on Glads. This would make them slightly heavier, but would have much improved performance during takeoff and at low alts. :salute:

...or in other words: No, no announcement from TF yet.

Personally, I would expect that those planes will take some more time and most likely will not make it into the upcoming TF 5.00 (no release date yet).

We are planning to incorporate new aircraft for TF 5.0.

Because all the work that is done here is voluntary and unpaid, we cannot make guarantees as to how many or the types.

Osprey
Nov-11-2014, 08:32
Of course. I'm hoping we go through chronologically. One issue I have with DCS WW2 is that all of the late late war AC are being made first, and that can off putting to step back.

Malta has to be first, the first toe in the water for new theatre, probably with Italian coastline hence those submarine pens a few months back, followed by Africa I hope - a bright future :) Thing is, for Africa you need the Tomahawk and Kittyhawk. We know an F4 and SpitVb will be there, but they are mods to existing types. The P40 would be brand new from scratch - lots of work.

One missing type which would be good to add as AI only would be the Ju52. It flew throughout the war in every theatre, would be good to have those pottering about in missions ready to die or generally adding life to the place. I know ATAG server has no AI but there are lots of things going on elsewhere which does use AI extensively in MP, then there is SP. I've flown campaigns before which relied on resupply, where we had to fly transports into the front or face running out of ammo/guns/men.
