But since the code was used by all branches of the German forces during WWII it is of course also an historic topic.

You can of course still use this, and other encryption machines, but most security services these days will be able
to crack it quite soon when they have your key. ;)

Breaking this code changed the war.

I went to Bletchley Park in the summer to see the museums there on this and a guided tour....I recommend it.....Its a fascinating story and the very first computer was created there by Alan Turing.....Due to the official secrets act in the UK the information was not known until 30 years later....
