Map position

Hi everybody,

I searched on the forum, but didn't find....am i the only one to have pb with the map? In fact i never see my position on it. On some tuto î've seee than position is mark with a white plane icône....not for me. Bug???

For singleplayer, you can activate it at realism settings. For multiplayer this setting is controlled by the server, ATAG and SOW server have the plane symbol on the map deactivated.

For SP you need untick this options (in Options > "Realism").

But for one "It's CloD" is not possible see plane icon on map (as "GPS") without see labels (icons) on planes (as is possible in il-2'46), so un-tick all boxes.

As workaround, playing with mpdotrange in RCU file is possible limit or make labels (icons) on planes invisible. Look here:

I have the same problem ..we are spoiled by the other flight games were we alwais could see were we are by a little arow or plane... now ee duddenly have to learn the ground. And names. .like french point and English point... i did not know were that was al that quick. .. so i lost a lot.. this sim taked time to learn... a real pilot training cost also time !! I Hate it too.. :-)

Don't worry, fly for a couple of weeks/months and it'll start to come naturally!
I hardly look at my map now whenever someone calls out a position.

That winter map is a different story though hehe..

I confuse the things, what is not possible is see only the "Map Path" (route) whitout planes icons, like in il-2'46. This option is tied with "Map Icons".
So un-tickt the two last options is enough to activate the "GPS". :D
BTW - For SP missions or MP servers that have this things on.

I agree. It would be real to have a map with the path but with any icons moving.

Not in 1942... they only had a map and compas... and later game the radio compas..cq receiver.
