Despite a lot of reading on World War II planes, it was only a few weeks ago that I learned about the Heinkel He 113, the fictional plane the German government created apparently to confuse Allied intelligence or impress its own citizens.

I'm sure the Luftwaffe enthusiasts on the forum have long been familiar with the He 113, but I was fascinated to find that Allied pilots regularly reported seeing them and even shooting them down.
It got me thinking: Were there any other planes created purely as feints or for propaganda value during the war? I've always been fascinated by the wild German jet ideas that only existed on paper -- but I've never heard of a plane that was *supposed* to exist only on paper.
Anyone know of any? :flying:
