Took some time to fly in FSX this evening....love the look of Orbx Pacific Northwest.

Plane: Beechcraft C90B King Air by Carenado
Skin: by Myself for the small Virtual Airline that I have belonged to for several years.

Flew from KPAE to a small Canadian Airport labelled CBB7 in town of Tipella.

OOPS....over ran the runway...almost went into the water! It has been a long time since I last flew in FSX....the beer didn't help any either.

That looks pretty good, I'm tempted to get FSX for these reasons:

My two favorite jet aircraft

Some more flying of the Beechcraft C90B from CYVR (Vancouver) to CYSE (Squamish)....very nice flight....but got distracted by the scenery and did not pay attention to my altitude when I approached the airport! Resulting in a bit of a loop through some mountain passes, then back to airport to land.

Leaving Vancouver:

oh-no! I was overtop the airport, but still at 5,000 ft. That came up quickly, and I was penned in by mountains on both sides. I climbed and found a path....thus the loop on my flight path!

The mountain pass I found (very pretty)

After coming back down to the river, I followed it to the airport....a little speck.

Uh-oh, short runway!

Reverse Thrusters saved the day! Couple feet of runway to spare!

Very nice airport. Friendly people. Well stocked bar. I will definitely return.

I also found that Orbx has a special scenery package for just this one airport...looks lovely in their website! (https://www.fullterrain.com/product/cyse)

Squamish (CYSE) to Pemberton (CYPS) -

My trusty co-pilot "Fritz" warms up the C90B for flight back to KSEA, while I take my private TBM850 up to Pemberton:

That's some beautiful pictures marmus. I have the orbx pacific northwest scenery as well and spend some time there with my Bonanza A36 and RealAir Scout. Beautiful place. I'm tempted to buy the orbx norway scenerey, a bit closer to my home.

At spiritus_mortem: FSX is imho a civil simulator. I never tried military aircraft for FSX, but I can imagine you're better off with DCS.

Here's a video of my FSX acitvity

That is one thing I like about FSX is the ability to literally fly anywhere in the world. I picked up the A2A Spitfire a few years ago and started a trek beginning in Kill Devil Hills, NC (Site of Wright Brothers first flight), and flew south along US coast to FL where I then hopped across to the Bahamas. Flew down though the Caribbean and into South America. Then across northern SA to the pacific coast and am now heading north just south of the southern Mexican border. The trek has been a bunch of short hops in the Spitfire from airstrip to airstrip and where there is a given free repaint for an airstrip along the route, I download and add to the scenery so I can see the authors work when I arrive. Fun time/flight sim experience, and the A2A Spitfire is very well done. Additionally flying the Spit, goal is to reserve any maintenance needs until I can hit a larger airport where assumption being, support there can address any maintenance needed.

Only down side right now is that since I went triple head, I have been having problems with FSX. Though been spending more time recently in CLOD and BMS and less in FSX, though need to return to the Trek soon. Additionally, I also have FTX Pacific NA and REX installed, though have not flown much in FTX since I am not that far north yet to enter that scenery area.

Once thing that perhaps could come in a future version of CLOD would be a working version of the Spit primer and/or cartridge loader/firing at startup?! That is a nice addition in the A2A spit along with the glass fogging when rapidly changing altitude.
