Bomber pilots, gunners, escorts...

Feb. 7

Luftflotte 2 has ordered an all out bomber offensive. Weekend leave for pilots has been cancelled.

Please have the appropriate Enigma Settings ( TS3 channels: bomber and flight 3 (escorts) ).

Targets and course will then be transmitted prior to rolling. also, escorts will be notified where to rendezvous.

This is a 24 hr push....

Mission is planned to start tomorrow 7th February at 21:00 GMT.
Try to come atleast 15 minutes before so it will be: 20:45 GMT - We will use this 15 minutes for the briefing, assigning dedicated flight leads, dedicated roles in formation and giving out map plots that are already created.

I was part of the first flight of Spitfires to intercept the very first bomber wave. There were 8 of us (all 71st folks contrailing at angels 26+) and I was both excited and terrified to dive in the middle of a formation of about 20+ aircraft. WOAW. What a fight that was.

I barely managed to escape with my life, and I know I damaged 3 bombers and fought with a couple of fighters out for Canuck blood. The minute I landed back to base I had my legs shaking with excitement. A real shame I had to go afterwards though.

Overall, a fantastic event.

Thanks for the support, everyone. That was really fun. We had multiple bomber formations up, with enough air support to start a small war. 10-15 bombers on Axis, 20+ air support, 7 channels on TS coordinating. Just awesome.

Allied put up one hell of a defense, but failed to stop the mighty Hun on this day. With only 15 minutes to spare.
The final target attack on the coastal defenses at Dover was epic, too. 4 Stukas and 88 in simultaneous attack.

Thanks for all the Blue bomber support. Bombers are often target fixated and have no idea of all the action going on behind or above. We just simply keep faith fighters will take care of the formation. It's good to see all the contributions that helps our bombers get to target. Its wasn't just the RAF that was taking us down with their kamikaze pilots. You can see in a few of the shots in the video that there was up to 6 Bf109's on one spit while the other RAF was just waiting for us to get out of the way and diving in. Yelling kamikaze!!!

This is the best footage of this event so far. Now it's easy to realize how many participants in this frey there was and what they were doing from the blue perspective. Well balanced Blue and Red views as well. Even if the first two sorties were painful, Blue held it together for the win. There are so many excellent players on this server its hard to come to grips with how many on both sides exist until you see footage like this. It exemplifies how much effort is required to land a win on a day like this. You have to come with the intent of sitting the map out and play to win from beginning to end.
