Salute all,

No.54 Squadron RAF is now fully operational.
While the paint of the new tags is new, our pilots are not; several entered the CloD world on day dot.
Currently recruiting only by invitation.

See you up there,

No.54 Roll_e (KL-A) ( formerly 92 Sqn. Karma (QJ-V))

That's the squadron of my childhood (and adulthood!) hero Air Commodore Alan Christopher Deere, author of the excellent "Nine Lives". I first read that book as a young lad of 10 years old after signing it out of our church library (in favour of the librarian's suggestion of "The Witch and the Wardrobe"). That was back in '63 (1963 -- just after the Battle of Gettysburg for the benefit of our younger forum members) and I still refer to that book to this day!

All the best, 54! :salute:

Speaking of Al Deere, I found an audio interview with him regarding his experience at the Battle of Dunkirk.

It will be featured in one of the episodes of Audio from the Past. ;)

Ah yes, Al Deere.
He is the hero of more than one of us at No.54, shot down 7 times? Nine lives indeed!
