Hi all,

here is a skin for the Italian Fiat CR.42. It depicts an aircraft captured by the Free French Bombing Group "Bretagne" at Sebha (Lybia) on 8th January 1943.
The other planes at Sebha airfield had been destroyed by a French bombing a few days earlier. This one was then repaired and used for training by the pilots from 20th January to late February 1943.
Pilots were Lieutenant Finance, Sergent Le Bris, Sergent-Chef Lafond, Sergent-Chef Crozat and Adjudant Aurraie. The mechanics were Sergent Lebourblanc, Sergent Baussardo, Sergent-Chef Leroy, Sergent-Chef Kersaho, Sergent Pernot, Sergent Herault.

There is only one picture of this aircraft, of poor quality, and almost impossible to find on the web.
Colour profiles usually show a plain white insignia on the tail. This is the one of Group Bretagne and should actually be made of Ermine (the traditional coat of arms of this French region).
So I decided to provide you with both versions: CR.42-Bretagne-1 comes with full insignia while CR.42-Bretagne-2 comes with the plain white one.
The aircraft retains most of its Italian markings but the white cross on the rudder was painted over with the French flag on top and with brown paint on the lower part.

I don't use skins, but I've been learning a lot about the Free French Air Force just from your recent posts. It's inspired me to learn more about their work in North Africa.

Keep up the good work on these somewhat obscure units!

Yep, this one will come soon too!
Right now I'm working on an Avro Anson. Hurricanes and Spitfires will come next. ;)

Haha, thanks Keeno!
The Anson will be tested this weekend, then I'll start 2 packs of Free French Hurricanes. One pack for North Africa and one for the Battle of Britain.

Cheers Sco,

Skinning is something I've always meant to get into but never seem to find the time, the shame of it is I'm a really good artist (if I say so myself), and I think thats why I can really appreciate other peoples work and the time, effort and attention to detail that goes into these skins. There's plenty of times that I fly just to admire the skins in external view.

So with that said, keep them coming.
