If anyone is interested, a majority of the photos were new to me. The one of the USS Lexington going up during the Battle of the Coral Sea is pretty wild.

Amazing is an understatement! Thanks for sharing :salute:

- I recently had the privilege to step aboard the Mighty Mo and see the spot where the instrument of surrender was signed, and the papers. (last photo's on the link) Words just can't describe what all these photo's really say.

Np, it was a great find. I was actually researching WWII wreckage dive spots and came across this.

I haven't made it on the Mighty Mo but it is on my list of places to see. As is Guadalcanal, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki to name a few.

My Dad is actually working with honor flight and sometimes escorts WWII vets to places they served or to the memorial in D.C. Some have family who can't escort them or don't want to, can you believe that? Anyways, I wish there was a way to get all vets back to the places they served if they wished. When I visited NYC last summer and went to the WTC memorial and museum it was the first time I really felt proud of my service and was able to release and let go of a lot of built up emotion, anger, and questions. I'm thinking about seeing if I can volunteer some of my time with honor flight once I'm back home because regardless of why/politics/agreement, all vets deserve that chance for closure that many never have got.

Rant over, here is another excellent site for photos:
