Amazing!

I always thought that if I get fed up with wife and family I will buy myself a motorcycle.
But now! :teeter

And here is a nice account of what he broke kissing that rock edge...

Aw, you don't have to fed up with them, Athos. But sometimes a man needs a little time for himself........

You've lived my dream! Classic bike (I'd prefer a Norton Comando or Triumph triple or similar you understand), warm dry weather and wide open roads.....sigh.

The Brit bikes have always been cool. They've had their ups and downs but they are now world class in quality and......coolness!

(It would be phenomenal if the old BSA line was resurrected..... )

I ADORED the old British Bikes, The Vincent Black Shadow was the bike of my dreams. We couldn't compete with the Japanese though with their in-line four cylinder and water-cooled bikes. The really sad thing was that Triumph had all these innovations on their drawing board way before the Japanese. Our industry was so under-invested during the 70s that it couldn't tool-up in time and I am ashamed to say that I chose a Yamaha FS1E (the 50cc fizzy) over the BSA Bantam as my first bike. I had heard that the BSA stood for 'Be Stuck Anywhere', until about the third stuck when it changed to B*stard Stopped Again :)

Thanks, guys -- it was fun shooting it with my little GoPro videocam on a chest harness.

Thanks to global warming (sorry, Al Gore :uhoh) we seem to have a longer riding season these days in SW Ontario. The guys and I don't push it as much as we used to weather-wise -- we've done enough riding through thunderstorms and even hail (ouch! ouch!). We don't get dressed up like snowmobilers anymore -- we'd just rather sit around sipping warm milk instead and relive past glories.

Even so, we had a balmy early Spring in March so we trundled the bikes out, but April was cold 'n wet -- warm milk and hot rum toddy time. With the weather quite warm in May we plan (hope) to keep riding well into October. It's all up to Mother Nature and David Suzuki.
