Hopefully this is the correct place to post this , but after the exciting news posted here today I couldn't think of a better place,so here goes:
Cast you mind back to when all the exciting news about this sim was first being posted at Ubisoft Il-2 Sturmovik ( nowthat has to be 8-10 years ago and it's working title was uh...well I've forgotten , but it was lame...)anyway..Sometime during those Fridays when Oleg(?) posted all sorts of screenshots of the sim in developement and what was being worked on,these appeared dealing with the He-59.From them sprung a whole new discussion on "rescue missions" for Messerschmitt pilots who had bailed out ( I remember a beautiful animation of what bailouts would look like , but,oh well, nevermind that now.) Judging from these screenshots ( they have to be about 4-6 years old now) & beast was quite a ways along, when it sunk along with Ubisoft's sponsorship of the game .Interestingly enough in one of the patches (that came too late to save the sim from the firestorm of criticism) there was i recall a single skin for the He-59 as a sort of easter Egg surprise hint for what might be just beyond the horizon..but again we were never to see any of those additions ( including the planned release of a flyable Bf-108- I think I have screenshots of it as well in similar developement.) Sigh....

So is there a chance?Could Ubisoft ever be persuaded to give up the files? I think I know the answer ,still as Sam Spade remarked '(Its) ..the stuff that dreams are made of..."

We have found no sign of this aircraft in the game files. And it does not look at this point that 1C will open CoD files for us.

Here's an answer found on the "official" Forum when I queried about the existance of the skin:

I had wondered if I was simply mis-remembering,but no a few of the memory brain cells are still firing. Pity we won't see this rare bird even in AI. I guess its a little like the Ju-52 they are discussing alot about in BoS.I would be neat to have it , but are the hours required to 'build" it pay off in terms of use in game esp.SP & campaigns? I would imagine it would be a piece of work to try to protect in MP as well...

( No, this isn't it...I found it in Google Images-it looks to me to be a work in progress for Il-2 Sturmovik 1946 with SAS Mods...?)
