There are similarities to the old IL-2 systems of modeling, but CoD is more complex, more elements are modeled, and everything is in a higher level of resolution.

Call it a factor of probably 3X.

Modeling a cockpit is a very demanding and time consuming process.

With the P40 also being modelled for BOM, do you lads ever work with them? Thinking about the cockpit especially here.

IL2: complex cockpits 3D "3000 polygons" -3X- Cliffs Of Dover: complex cockpits 3D "9000 polygons"?

x3 polygons
x3 textures
x3 number of parts
x3 animations
x3 ....

I did wonder if the ice had melted and there was some TF love. Shame.

What do you mean?

I meant 1c giving TF a hand and share the P40 cockpit...or anything else, especially as some in 1c must be proud of how well TF have brought on their original. Cod isn't a financial competitor after all. But MP answered this anyway. Cheers.

TF P40 looks better anyway :)

Ok got it, I must have been half asleep or something not to understand what you were talking about.

May not compete financially, but I'd have to say it offers plenty of competition :)

TF is not competing with anyone.

We are just doing what we can and want to do with this originally bug filled, but hopefully, now blossoming software engine.

We're just having fun playing with it... and when we get bored, some of us quit, and others take over and play with it, and so on. :D

It's a way to learn new things, a way for us to fulfil our own interests, and just generally a big toy. :-P

Competition in that players with limited funds, or who are on the fence, may delay buying 777 stuff now that CLoD is more playable. Doing things well can always make someone squirm ;)

On the flip side, 777 plays friendly, CLoD players say nice things about 777. 777 shares the fans and gains some sales.
