View Full Version : Team Fusion Update June 12th 2015 - Just proving we're still alive :)

Hi guys, yes, I know.....it's been AGES!!!!! Sorry for the lack of updates and news but there is little to visually report :(

Most of the current work is involved in coding work and also modelling work for the upcoming Theatre of Operations, so as the face of the PR for TF I have to work out what I can report and what not. Currently most of it is in the 'What not' :smash:

So look for the sake of proving we are still alive and working and that not everyone is out in the sunshine (or Thunderstorms here in the UK :) ) here are just a few images I have scraped together from around the TF pages. Please understand there is a lot more happening but until the powers above me agree for me to announce the new Theatre I can only show what isn't visually related.

So, I have posted a couple of these images on our Facebook page this week and also in another thread but the rest are new. Again, sorry it's a small update but hopefully this year will have a lot more updates coming more regularly as we get nearer the last few months :devilish:

As always I'd like to thank Artist for putting together a Bugtracker report which can be seen here:

From the Team Fusion Bugtracker (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de)

The bugtracker (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/projects/il2clodtf) keeps accumulating data: Since the last published update on April, 24th, 10 new users brought the total up to 888 registered users of which 62 have been active since then. We currently have 186 open issues (131 bugs and 55 feature requests). 2 have already been resolved with patch 4.312 and 21 are currently in progress (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/projects/il2clodtf/issues?set_filter=1&f[]=status_id&op[status_id]=%3D&v[status_id][]=2&f[]=&c[]=tracker&c[]=status&c[]=priority&c[]=subject&c[]=author&c[]=updated_on&c[]=category&c[]=votes_value&group_by=) to be fixed or implemented.

6 new issues have been raised since the last update, among them are (no judgment implied): Reported Bug #753 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/753): "Propellor feather function Heinkel 111 H and P inoperable." (New) Reported Bug #752 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/752): "Hurricane elevator trim wheel modelled in Cliffs Of Dover iL2 has incorrect textures for a Mk1 version" (New) Reported Bug #750 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/750): "Effect of a green smoke in case of AMD CrossFireX and Nvidia SLI" (New) Feature Request #748 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/748): "109 radiator position " (New) Reported Bug #747 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/747): "HE 111: fuel pump operating levers work erroneously as supercharger operating levers." (New)

The issues with the highest (summary) vote currently are:
55: #725 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/725): "BF 110 Airspeed" (New) 48: #581 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/581): "RAF fighter engines incorrectly start cold in Multiplayer" (New) 43: #614 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/614): "Large cloud formations do not appear in replay of track (.TRK) files" (New) 40: #498 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/498): "Bf 109: Prop Pitch Inverted" (New) 40: #690 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/690): "Bf 109: The Half Armor Plate in upcoming 109 Variants" (New)

There are a number of issues set on "Feedback". We kindly ask the authors to respond:
#489 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/489): "All Static Objects should have a destroyed model #604 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/604): "Blenheim: fuel cocks incorrectly labeled #669 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/669): "Bf 110: Navigational Lights #670 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/670): "Bf 110: Landing Lights #707 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/707): "Map near Folkestone #716 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/716): "Texture #718 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/718): "Ju-88: Sight cannot be moved to the left and to right #731 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/731): "BR-20 bomb aimer CTD #732 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/732): "Fiat BR-20 bomb aimind device can only be set to 2.700 meters #733 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/733): "Hurricane Mk I Rotol 100: Course setter #749 (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/749): "Overheated cooling system shouldn't blow the radiator.

We invite all pilots to participate in the bugtracker either by reporting bugs, requesting features, and/or vote on issues. But before you do anything, please read the guidelines and FAQ here: http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/projects/il2clodtf/boards/4

until the powers above me agree for me to announce the new Theatre I can only show what isn't visually related.

The project will come along with the sands of time, I'm sure. We know we'll eventually get our just deserts. In the mean time, we'll just have to take the heat.

But I can't possibly guess what the new theater might be!

Yeah whatever. My arthritic hands will be unable to grasp the stick anymore by the time TF5 is realised. My neuropathy numbed feet unable to feel the pedals. My glaucomic eyes unable to see my (sexily curved 4D) twin screens. My calcified eardrums unable to hear the new sound files. My blocked arteries unable to cope with the excitement of seeing the download progress bar. Keep twiddling away Team Fusion, we shall meet in the eternal blue sky of the next life it seems...

You joke, but I wouldn't mind flying an "Aleutian Tiger":
http://aleutianplanes.com/P-40Es_Adak1943Life.jpg

I will admit: Before you edited your post and it briefly read "Alastair" instead of "Alaska," I quickly scoured the Internet looking for hints as to what "Alastair" could mean. Even ran through the Wikipedia list of people named Alastair hoping to find some pilot who fought in North Africa.

I guess hidden mysteries are more exciting than typographical errors. :)

Always love an update, big or small. My sympathies with TF. I want to disappear to my shed and work on ideas for controllers and stuff but High Command has an endless list of 'requests' decorating, carpet laying, childcare........

I do have a query, not a request, regarding the lack of reflections of trees etc. on water. They have never been in the game and maybe code for it just dosen't exist but are they on the list? Not at all important I know.

Hopefully Heinkel will still be around when we get this ready to launch ;)

Ok I know TF active develope CLOD members are few and dedicate their .free. time for all us.. but STILL I see no mention about solving TWO of the most important BUGS of this great game that affect 99% of online and off line game:

1 - NO Collision Tree = very common CHEAT in MP CLOD
2 - Bug of roads and bridges on Map = Vehicles/tanks etc. move often out of alignment of the road plus vehicles can't pass bridges.

I have reported about this from a long time here in this forum, but sadly I never have seen any annoucement or progres about solving these Two bugs.

cheers.. and however thank all Team Fusion for their work always.

If indeed it is a Vb, hopefully the engine sound will include the "pan pipe" whistle sound at high speed flyby for which it was easily recognized by coast watchers on night duty.

I'm not entirely sure of that cowling feature not be present on certain mkV frames... as the early mkVs were converted MkIIs...

the dead giveaway (at least the one I'm sure of) is the enlarged, more tubular oil radiator they had to create after the initial convertions were overheating.

I believe I've even seen some early merlin61 mkIXs with the teardrop blister on the lower starboard engine cowling.

I thought that blister was present on the iib and some later marks but not the vb (aside from converted airframes)....but who knows - Mystic Puma is of course the undisputed master of mystery - Thankfully we'll all find out next week when TF 5 is finally released *

Upon further inspection, you seem to be on to something... can't find any mkV pictures withe the teardrop blister... yet all early mkixs have them.... odd.

Another thing to add to spotting the difference is many if the mkVs were equipped with a longer pointy-er spinner with wider chord blades x3 (rotol I believe).

Thank you Spiritus to point about that..I see is a very recent discussion so I have not noticed it still now. However I still have to notice a general very poor interest by TF develop members about tree collision and road (or vehicles?..) bugmap as I mentioned above.

At the contrary I see many requests or workaround by developers about quite irrilevant bugs (e.g. is SO rilevant to correct trim weel color texture on Hurrycane compared to bug tree collision or road/bridges bugs? . I obviously respect any request by any CLOD entusiast simmer that wrote here.. but may be by moderators/developers of any future Patch will to give at least some kind of priority of their (ever appreciate) work on correcting bugs.

..and I doubt the priority classification listed in Bugtracker site is a good reference as well :-)

First question you asked is already being looked at and discussed on both the open forums.and Team Fusion private forums with ideas about using scripts.

Your second question is also being discussed but the two people who are most likely to be able to.solve this are both heavily involved in creating the map tool. Part of this may involve a fix for the issue but it may need to be looked at after. These are the only two guys on the team who I know are involved with it, so once the map tool is nearer completion we'll know if this is likely to be solved.

Not at the moment. The main guy involved with the map tool is also the genius who can solve this. Sadly we only have one of him......but we live in hope that his idea on how to fix this so a couple of guys can work on the AI routines and Radio comms can be done before v5.00, I'm a Single Player guy so I am promoting this when I get the opportunity.....don't worry, it hasn't been forgotten :)

The Axis side should be getting the following for TF 5.0:

109E-7, 109E-7NZ, 109F1/F2/F4, Me-108 Taifun

In addition, we expect to see but can't guarantee:

Fiat CR-42, Ju-88C-2, Ju-88A-5

Plus we have a couple of other un-named Axis aircraft being worked on which we haven't featured in any updates but which may arrive.

Thank you for your reply MP, even in later time any answer about this topic is appreciated;). The bad part is that, even in your reply, I can't find much "think positive" feeling on resolve this two big bug of the game that really ruin both ON-LINE and OFF-LINE immersion of the game.

Those show the different types of carburetor intakes.

We were talking about the small teardrop blister that is located on the lower corner of the starboard side engine cowling just aft of the spinner.

It shows up in mkII airframes as well as the early mkIXs (even some mkVIIIs)... but seems to have skipped the mkV airframes

Not sure what it's there for... possibly something coming off the glycol header tank that need more clearance?

Well, at least in france I think they stand out really dark against the background in the far distance. It`s a bit like they are not affected by that "everything gets dusty-effect" (well noticable when zoomed in to the max). But if the textures change at 300m already, i think its far more important to have a good transition from 299 to 300m!!

I believe it is there because they used a different type of starter (Coffman?) so the blister was to accomodate this i think.

.... However I still have to notice a general very poor interest by TF develop members about tree collision....

I would just like to confirm Mysticpuma's response. This has been discussed quite extensively within TF.

Cheers, Setback

Looking good TF, many thanks!

Regarding loadouts, I've found a clunky way to change them in SP via FMB but it would be great to have them working properly.

And regarding weather, any plans to give us rain, overcast and poor visibility as in IL2 1946?

Possible "quick win" extra weather option - would it be technically simple to have a fine sunny day but with visibility reduced in haze to 3 miles or so as is typical of many British summer days? Would add greatly to the realism!

Anyway you could give steps to change loadouts in the FMB?

The Axis side should be getting the following for TF 5.0:

109E-7, 109E-7NZ, 109F1/F2/F4, Me-108 Taifun

In addition, we expect to see but can't guarantee:

Fiat CR-42, Ju-88C-2, Ju-88A-5

Plus we have a couple of other un-named Axis aircraft being worked on which we haven't featured in any updates but which may arrive.

Will the 109 F's be tropicals?

Hawk - I don't know about that thread you were directed to (seems over-complicated messing with the conf.ini file?) - when off-line (I've never played on-line yet) in the FMB I just go to group properties for the aircraft type in your mission and at the loadout bit click on the little square with the three dots in it - that comes up with a window which enables you to give a name to the loadout for that aircraft type and set up your ammo belts. It seems to mimic what's in the proper "Loadout" screen and which doesn't work, although it works fine doing it like this in the FMB. What's good about it is you can set up numerous individually named loadouts for that aircraft type quite easily.

The only thing you can't change in the FMB is convergence - but luckily if you then go into the proper Plane/Loadout screen and change convergences there for that aircraft type, then this is the one thing which will work there! Even though the names of your loadouts won't appear there, whatever convergence you set will apply for all your own loadouts for that aircraft type.

Hope you get it to work, it does it for me!

Carbolicus you're a star. Can't wait to try this out. Tired of shooting with a pea shooter.

Hi carbolicus,

[...] in the FMB I just go to group properties for the aircraft type in your mission [...]

We have a feature request concerning just that in the bugtracker: #680 Single player missins loadouts (http://tfbt.nuvturais.de/issues/680). Would you mind posting your 'workaround' there, too?

Thanks, Artist

Thanks for update MP and cheers TF, you're all super stars:salute: The cannons on the SpitVb a personal fav.:devilish:

We (EAF) and now many others have joined Reddog and Philsytle in supporting their storm of war Bob campaign, watching them slowly add new features and gather it is very labour intensive, but it's already worth it in the immersion factor. The best flying I've ever been involved in has been online campaigns, with il2 the airwar was integral with ground wars, in seow over Malta it was sea convoys and fleet battles.

So I wondered if any work in Team fusion is being focused in fixing the issues with vehicles naviaging roads and the general ground and sea war?
