I am trying to figure out the best keys to setup to properly utilize the gunsight. I use TrackIR and I still find the zooming and or switching to gunsight view with the time required to do that to be a real pain. How do most people handle the view system with the gunsight?

For me having a button under your thumb somewhere intuitive on the joystick means you can 'lean in and out' without taking your eyes off the skies. Mine is on the thumb 4way pickle on the warthog.

Another option is to just lean to your right a little and line the sight up that way, I use that method also.

Another way is to lean slightly left and then reset track IR. when you now look ahead normally, your sight is now in your viewpoint. I don't use this method but plenty do. Edit: the reason I don't like this last method is that it messes with my track IR dead zones.

Hey

I just center the gunsight at the beginning of the flight by:

1. Leaning to the left (with your real head)
2. centering TrackIR
3. Lean back to the middle (with your real head)

After that I use the different FOV settings + Zoom!
