Reading the update I can't help but think that another beta patch may be released within 2 weeks as they begin to put it together very soon.

Sadly I see there is no talk of improved fps, clouds, or anything to do with particles. But I am forever hopeful.

We havent made changes to our SLI and Quad SLI support in the upcoming patch.

More specifically about the SLI question.
SLI support is two-ways, it needs to be in our game and in NVidia drivers. We have it in our game, but the patch needs to be certified by NVidia and a change needs to be added on their end.
We probably will try to get the upcoming betapatch certified by NVidia and get SLI support for the game with the next driver release.

Is it just me or does it seem like 'the' patch is coming out to then be told most of what we thought was being fixed is still wip...there isn't much there to be exited about for me anyway..that exit launcher crash looks like itwill take a long time to pinpoint... sigh

Jamz - It'll be a WIP for the next decade! LOL Or at least until someone at 1C pulls the plug...

I await the FM improvements with great trepidation in view of their last efforts. Maybe that's a little unfair......but if I really want fair then I'd go see my Mama! LOL

The only two items that I see being possibly improved in the BS thread is: the popping up of trees and framerate slow-down when around a large group of bombers.

All the rest appear to be: still under consideration or information will be in the readme (which doesn't mean changed).

I think they are really concentrating on framerates and graphics issues related to this. Everything else is in a priority sequence to follow these two primary issues.

Hopefully, the next patch will see success there and we can start to get refinements in flight model and other items on the list.

I am disappointed that they say they are satisfied with the sound.

Odd that he states "poor frame rates on SOME computers" I used to have 40 to 60 fps before the patch, lucky to get 20 to 30 now, funny as others have up to 60 fps for the first time,

Well it's nice of 'em to post a few answers to questions.

I find it a bit strange that launcher crashes which used to only occur after a period of time online are now happening offline and when people press escape.

From simply a player's perspective, each beta just seems to make things worse than the last in more ways than one. Fingers crossed for the next patch, but I'm not exactly exuding with confidence here.

P.S. I sent them around 15 crash files at the weekend from an event which produced very pronounced pauses, like 1 frame every 5 seconds. It stuttered like this for a while before finally crashing. Each pause generated a crash file. I sent them in sequence and yet even this didn't tell them a cause of the crashes?

Dutch we have similar computers, you used to get good fps with everything on high didn't you ?????????

how are they now:

Example on the ground at Littlestone in a Blenheim I get 19 to 22 fps

I look down at the cockpit floor and get 29, look up at the clouds and get 60, looking straight ahead gives 36 or so.

Everything on high, ssao and v-sync on. AA set to 2, nvidia control panel set to 'let the application decide'.

I'll edit the post with the 'use advanced settings result' in a few mins. :)

Edit: Using 'advanced settings' in Nvidia control panel drops the frames by quite a few. 30 looking straight ahead, 47 looking up at the clouds, same 29 looking at cockpit floor. This is opposite to the previous patch IIRC.

Doesn't fall as low as yours anywhere. Maybe it's your Nvidia settings? If they're set to 'quality' that might explain it.

Quit using the "Nvidia Control panel" right after the last patch. (never used to use it before the patch and had great results

SO !!! the only difference in our settings is the AA. I always set it at 8. Just tried 2 and now have "on the ground"

Up = 28
Down = 29
Ahead = 28


I'll take a flight and note the fps

Sisnce I amy have a system that comes close to you guys here are my stats. Screen res is 1920*1080

using lateset Nvidia Beta drivers. mostly set to default.
I did notice in this beta the symbol for Launcher.exe is now the Raf symbol and not the colin McRae one.


Everything on high, ssao and v-sync on. AA set to 2,
Nvidia control panel set to 'let the application decide'. (so standard everything)
quality set to quality. FXaa = on


On the ground at Hawkinge 'Channel Command mission'
Up = 60+ vsync kicks in. can go to 145 when looking up with vsync off.
Down = 37
Ahead = 45-52
Taking off - Dust particles = 15-20 for 5 seconds.
Flying thru clounds = 45

When I get home I will post my exact Nvidia settings and my conf.ini

There is no worthwhile reason to put it on that I know of and evry good (performance increasing) reason to turn it off.
But if any1 has found a good reason for it I'm all ears.

It's a hangover from fiddling around with settings for me. If I can get playable framerates with it on, I'll leave it on - although with the popup trees and shadows in the current patch it does seem a bit daft to have graphics enhancements on......

@Colander - yes mate we're both on 1920x1080 as far as I recall.

Hi Torian: long time no see , I also ran with SSAO on , your above post made me revisit it , I just spent anout 1 -1.5 hrs testing it on -then off again and again , only just on the ground sitting in cockpit and outside views = close up and far away objects and what ever else i could look at, fireing guns ect. ect ,, unless I could have a side by side snap shot , I can not see a diff , So I turned it off and Gained about 6-7 FPS, === to get good fps readings i had to turn the game OFF then ON after each change , also played with ingame AA and Nvidia FXAA and stayed with FXAA / 16-XQ CSAA, = Thanks Torian for the extra 6-7 FPS ........................ Now if anyone can (show) where the Diff SSAO -on or off is ?? I would like to (SEE) == I can spare a few FPS for Graphics Qualty increase / Smooth/ Crisp /Clear ect,ect ..............................edit= I noticed Wolf's config settings had (meshstatic=3) mine was 2 --so made it 3 = if this made SSAO to show no diff ? I dont know , but did gain 6-7 FPS with it off and No visual decrease =( its like some kind of Sick Chineese Puzzle / finger trap Thingy ?? ).............Now if only Someday,- WE -can set ( spawnhumans to =1 ) without takeing a 50% FPS hit , that would be Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I will explain the below, I am surprised these are not in your conf.ini. In your documents\1c....\il2cod\
Not in the steam account area.

TexFlags.SSAO=0 This means Ssao ingame is off
TexFlags.VSync=1 This means vsync in game Is on


width=1920 These two are the screen resolution ingame
height=1080
posLeft=0
posTop=0
ColourBits=32
FullScreen=1
ChangeScreenRes=1 This should be 1 to ensure you run the resolution above if diff to windows.
Frequency=60 This is screen refresh rate
StereoMode=0 Stereo mode is for playing in 3d. So this is off for me.

Did all the above (correctly this time) and got the described 10+ fps. So that now put me into at least a flyable mode with 30+ all the time

also: finally resolved my TrackIR issues and low an behold my TS notifier came back on two day ago: I have no idea what the issues were with that
